That would be the dream, right? Imagine something with a tight story with a rigid choice structure a la The Witcher but with an advanced Spore-style procedural power generation that ended up locking off parts of the story as your body changed? It wouldn't sell well but it would be the best damn X-Men experience of all…
And the '10s gave us Brian Michael Bendis' insufferable Depressed Snapchat Dazzler. https://a.dilcdn.com/bl/wp-…
She sure did. Complete with the partially-sleeved Under Armour shirt.
I readily admit it's pretty righteous that there's a Shiar base/palace that is a dead ringer for the first level of Strider in X-Men Genesis.
It's actually the cancelled cartoon that only aired a single episode! "Pryde of the X-Men" has the same line up of characters down to the super weird, GI Joe-ified Dazzler. Most of the villain designs for White Queen, Pyro, Blob, and Magneto are all right in the title sequence. I've never been able to find an…
Man, that's what broke my heart when Legends came out, though! I'd drifted away from the X-Men post-Age of Apocalypse—the only book I was still reading by '96 was X-Man, which was nicely weird but not as awesomely weird as when Warren Ellis would pick it up in 2000—but Morrison's New X-Men had brought me back into it…
Actually, I'd say Marvel Ultimate Alliance is the best of those Raven ARPGs. Best deep continuity cuts, best art, best cast. I was tempted to say it's the best X-Men game but it's not really a pure X-Men game after all. Damn shame that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is TERRIBLE.
AND ACCURATE! http://icdn9.digitaltrends….
A) I played both Legends 1 and 2 when they came out, start to finish in co-op. Enjoyed them quite a bit.
He's so much dreamier than Angry Fabio on the US box.
If nothing else, it's a neat play considering it's more or less the second to last major game Konami will ever fund. If you're curious, here's our old review: http://www.avclub.com/artic…
It's really true. And sadly that invasive gamey-ness carried over to Lords of Shadow 2, but it was early '00s gamey-ness that just ruined the complete package. Forced stealth mission after forced stealth mission, man.
It's true, the Japanese version is a lot more forgiving. And the extra sound channels in that cart make those songs sweeeeeeeet. I actually love both versions.
Reviewing Lords of Shadow 2 for this very site made me so angry I actually almost broke a Dualshock 3. That game is a disaster. I actually like Mirror of Fate a lot, though.
What these cats said already. Last Window is awesome.
Totally. That's a big reason why Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City wasn't "Worst" in that feature.
You know, I thought about going with the PC version of 1 as the worst, but I didn't want to veer away from the actual Capcom made games. When we inevitably do Best Worst Weirdest for Super Mario Bros, I don't think Super Mario Bros Special by Hudsonsoft will make the round up for the same reason.
I think having a collectible roster of little, big-eyed cartoon characters each with a cutesy name and different abilities is distinctly Pokemon like, a subtle way of adding a host of potential cutesy characters at a time when such a thing was enormously marketable. Battle Network's collectible chips was far closer to…
Bourdreaux's Butt Paste is actually a pretty common grocery store item. Butt Butter ain't totally out of line. Plus, just listen to those delicious consonants.
