Oh I like the first ten hours of Alien Isolation. I think they make for one of the best horror video games ever made in all of history. I just don't like the abysmal seven-hour game that's tacked onto that the back half of that brilliant first game. I reviewed Alien: Isolation as well for Digital Trends. http://www.dig

Ghaleon, I actually almost wrote up a couple of cuts from Hotel Dusk/Last Window. I'd say they count for sure.

Man… why the hell have I never gotten in here. Who's ready to Smash it up?

Mark my words, Valkyria Chronicles will be available as a digital download on something in the future. PS3 emulation will happen at some point. Just not soon.

Hell yes.

I was initially turned off myself, Girard, but spending some time with a demo version of it at E3 piqued my interest in the game. The visual and aural style don't really have much power on their own, it's only when you actually start touching the game that it really works. That Hot Topic effect melts away right quick.

That whole back half of the album is just crazy. "Please" and "Wake Up Dead Man" are just harrowing.

Pop remains my all time favorite U2 album, and "Gone" my favorite U2 song. I've never, ever understood the hate it gets for precisely the reasons outlined by Annie. Nicely done.

Perfectly, perfectly put, man. That's why Gunvolt is a let down for me ultimately. Because it comes so, so close to getting back to that instinctual "just play" rhythm of Mega Man and X, but it just misses the mark.

Yeah, me too. I do recommend Mega Man ZX Advent. It's the best of all of them, and Azure Striker Gunvolt is even better, but it's still not quite there. Just… make lots of tricky enemies and long, complex levels. What's wrong with that? Score attack rushes, etc. are fine, but make them a secondary mode like in Mega

Actually my real criticism on Mega Man Zero as a series is its needless bloat. Having to level up weapons and the Cyber Elves muddy a perfectly good action game for no real benefit. Having to grind to make a standard weapon work and relying on randomized drops or level performance for character upgrades rather than

I read a lot of Rick Veitch's Swamp Thing at age 9. I suppose that explains some things.

You do not have to repeat chapters, yes, but there's no saving a personal checkpoint so you can hop backwards to make different choices halfway through a chapter. It is a very important distinction, you're right.

No joke, the original text was "Like everyone else who ever watched The Omega Man or read Y: The Last Man, I too used to daydream about my apocalypse plan." I thought the former might be a little dated for readers, save AV Club commenters that would immediately drop some Homega Man references.

My mission is complete.

LIES.

It just occurred to me that this might be your nightmare version of a game, Matt.

For some reason my favorite of these seems to have disappeared from the thread. One more try.

"'Where's your armor?' Firebrand asked Arthur, his oiled muscles taught beneath silky red skin. 'Who needs it?' quipped the bearded knight, clad only in his polka dot boxers and courage. 'I've still got my lance. Let me show you.'"

"Princess Peach could feel the sea salt in the cool Delfino Island air mixing with the sweat still drying on her skin. She looked down at the shirtless Mario and Toad already asleep, waiting for the right moment to wake them for round two. 'Shine get,' she purred, 'Shine get.'"
