This 'talking point' seems to recur in these comment fields over and over. The idea that Season One was 'excellent' and ended at Leland's death — and then everything after that sucked.

"Ray Wise's portrayal of Lelands breakdown in the jail cell is one of the most gut wrenching performances ever seen on tv."

It's funny but I'm fan of this song and vocals and lyrics because it's so ridiculously innocent. If you recall this season's nuke episode — it is THE song playing in the minds of those young kids who kiss.

The artistic notion (I believe) was dramatic irony. That James song immediately preceded Big Ed's lonely moment in the filling station. 'Just him… and… not Norma'.

I'm a fan seriously disappointed by this drivel.

Good point.

"No one looks at any show (or any piece of art) objectively."

"It almost feels futile to assign letter grades to these reviews—partly because having Twin Peaks back is such a gift, it feels churlish to rank the episodes so baldly, and partly because, more than most television, each episode will evoke a different response from different viewers."

That's interesting. Because I had no idea why Sarah would watch that clip over and over again — even if plastered.

Maybe Audrey made a deal — a 'contract' — to stay in the castle to keep Good Cooper safe and secure in the lodge. But when he left the lodge the 'contract' was broken and the mother of Richard wants out now — to be with Coop.

“I feel like I’m somewhere else,” Audrey says. “Like I’m somewhere else and like I’m somebody else.”

Dear Sweet Jesus — tell me this comment is that most sublime form of sarcasm.

"I'm watching to just see how it ends."

What bothers me more is I keep seeing composer Angelo's name go by but I'm not hearing memorable NEW music.

That's a very interesting theory.

I'd argue that it didn't even start off well. At the time it felt exciting… but how could it not… we Peaks fans starving for new stories after so many years.

You're right. Still —

It was appalling.

"You must be fun at parties."

"If I am "plucking at crumbs to find gold" that means, by definition, that I'm not actually enjoying the show on its own merits."
