Well it's kind of hard to knock the lights on the 996 (usually one of the main things people rail against on the 996, the other being the interior), which causes them to dismiss the 996 as being a good car, while simultaneously praising the GT1, which had the same lighting "fault" ... so the OP is being consistent,

Right, so how can people claim to love the GT1 and hate the 996? Oh, we ignore the lights on the GT1, because GT1, but it's the only* thing we harp on with the 996.

NO THEY ARE NOT, really. The original 996 lights were kind of crap and looked like the Boxster (probably the big reason people didn't like them was that if you saw those lights in your rear view mirror you couldn't tell if it was a 911 or a measly Boxster) but the Turbo (and the '02+ 996) lights are, in my opinion,

What is so bad about the 996's interior design? Yes, in vinyl is looks cheap, but turbos were typically all leather, I think. I'm with Doug - it's a great combination of performance, practicality, and value. Thanks to people who complain about the lights and the interior, the prices are driven down far below what they

but..but... the lights! you can't love the looks of this and hate the 996. just sayin'
