@ursa: It's a Canada thing. No one in the US that isn't being issued BB's from their work is buying them; it's all iPhone or Android.

@destryer: Most people never replace batteries in phones (or laptops or mp3 players), so Apple isn't exactly screwing a large portion of the population here. I'm sure some of the reasoning comes from the extra sales standpoint, but I'd bet that most of it is the design and ability for tighter

Hey #Apple, change the #iPad switch back to screen lock!

As soon as I can do it the other way, I'll really care. Being able to send media which I generally already have accessible on my network anyway is much less interesting as being able to access that media on my iDevice without syncing and moving/removing. StreamToMe works well enough for now, but a native solution

Meebo for sure. Google Talk is awesome, but without a native application it sucks to use cross platform, and Meebo handles it flawlessly anyway.

Vote: Meebo

@soldstatic: There's a good reason why no one offers unlimited anymore. AT&T is actually shutting people off on your plan if they exceed 5gb, and offering either a ETF free cancellation or switch to a current data plan. Unlimited broadband access over UMTS is not a viable business plan for any company with 90+

@Chernobyl: I just got 2.5 on my iPhone 4. Everyone gets different service, and if you're slavishly devoted to a carrier because of the iPhone, well, I dunno. I work for AT&T and wouldn't even suggest you keep your iPhone if your service is sub-par.

@TanyaRei: The middle bell curve might not be as good with electronics as you. Considering how much money Apple is raking in, I'd say they have a better grasp of what the market wants and will buy.

@TanyaRei: You are not the average consumer. Trying to show my mother how to manually manage music would be a nightmare. Got her an iPod Touch and haven't had to do anything aside from set up her iTunes account.

@Sceeerutinizer: 5000 artists. Who knows how many CD's each had. And the metadata has to be entered by hand (copy/paste) along with retrieving the cd's from the warehouse and returning them. It's pretty reasonable, and considering how many artists signed up so fast it looks like they felt the same way.

@SGTalon: I dunno, Steve runs Apple with an iron fist. If he wants it done one way, it's DONE.

@DharmaLab: Since Gawker lacks the ability to nested quote, I'll try to answer paragraph by paragraph so please forgive me if I miss something.

@bjarnia: I think you're taking a preconceived notion of what you think I'm trying to say and running with it.

@DharmaLab: Why do you think that? I agree that it's interesting from a knowledge standpoint, but as far as your physical self is concerned the reasons why or why not your body acts a certain way does not change the iron laws of thermodynamics and conservation of energy. The biggest hurdle in weight loss, aside

@Americanitis: The Win7 phones will be awesome for first party and well developed 3rd party apps, and Zune is pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to using the Focus for a while, although my iPhone will certainly be in my car just in case.
