Yeah I hate to say it but this is classic Roberts. Throw a bunch of decisions he doesn’t really care about the other side’s way. Save up your pretense of bipartisanship for the decisions he really does care about, like gutting Roe vs. Wade or reducing voting rights for poor and black people.

Well, one side would like to help trans people, and the other side seems pretty determined to make an already insanely vulnerable group EVEN MORE vulnerable.

If you read her letter, you’ll see that she did engage her friend in a good-faith discussion. And pushing the idea that trans-women aren’t women is “becoming more moderate” is not exactly a ringing endorsement of moderation.

I mean, in the letter itself it says that she pretty patiently HAD those good faith discussions:

Yup. I work in psych, which is better that prisons and jails at dealing with this stuff AND I’ve seen many staff devolve into the “every seizure is fake why are we calling codes and taking vitals they’re FAKE”. I’ve also seen it with asthma- hell, I’ve personally experienced it with asthma.

Pretty sure that the people who got killed on ‘Black Wall Street’ in Tulsa weren’t wearing shabby clothes, didn’t seem to help them any.

A dress code would have some influence on the protest, though, as it establishes a discrete agenda and tone for the gathering, discouraging rioting, and establishes a uniform, singling out looters and anarchists.

I take direct offense to the fact that someone’s bright idea of respectability politics is to dress up like the 60's.
