I’ve been using Ecobee in my home for about 5 years. I love it. For me, the game changer is the remote sensors and the ability to have the thermostat use the reading from one of those sensors to run the HVAC instead of using the temperature reading at the thermostat itself.

That’s a shame, they were actually great when you needed to take something in for a warranty issue (Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death), and had great sales on Xbox games. The other bonus was for people who wanted a pre-built PC without bloatware installed, they were the go-to.

My experience is exactly the opposite of yours...almost. The only time I have been in an Apple store was when my wife drank the kool-aid and bought an iPhone.
