Visual search: scan barcodes or even a book cover. AUdio search (like kazam). voice search. local scout (like local pages, etc). it's all builtin, no apps required.

Agreed - this is no news - the headline is misleading (no surprise here).

I think they mean the tablets (i.e., non-intel netbook type) will be metro-only. Desktops and notebooks will have the full feature. And that was already advertised early on, so this is no news.

Unless you are a developer, please don't waste your time. You will be frustrated since the interface isn't polished yet (it's not even up to the same level as the ones being demoed at build). People who complain about the interface at this point just create noise. Wait till the non-developer betas are out there.

I own a nook simple touch, and bought a kindle (type 3, the old model) to send as a gift abroad. Sadly, b&n doesn't allow for the nooks to be used outside the US. Does anyone know if the pdf zooming is still happening, instead of resizing fonts like the nook does? That alone kills it for me. I have a nook simple touch and love it. Haven't seen anything here that would make me switch. Just not having to convert files because they say so is reason enough.
