When your mistakes cause someone else’s death - someone who wasn’t out rioting or in the middle of a police chase, but someone who was minding his own business in his own home - it’s a little more severe than spilling someone’s drink at the bar.

Since when are the police criminally liable for shooting unarmed civilians? Even unjustified and on video they seem to have a 70% of getting away with murder.

All true, but at least one of those parties could shoot a compliant unarmed man on video without any fear of conviction.

That is odd, because driving in the snow is my least favorite situation to pilot fwd vehicles.

That’s not even a recent thing. Not all Miatas have an LSD. I think the FR-Z86 may be one of the few RWD cars to come standard with an LSD in the base configuration.

The fwd disadvantage seems to decrease with weight, but would that same very light fwd chassis (say a real Mini) be better with that same drivetrain in the rear and all else equal?

Absolutely. And the fact that I may have more control in a BRZ doesn’t take any fun away from the guy having a blast in the Fiesta.

Except you can’t use it as an advantage. You can anticipate the effect of the disadvantage and work with it, but there are limitations to the work-arounds.

I only started owning AWD cars relatively recently and neither of them is built for fun (Outback, Forester) so I haven’t really pushed them in any meaningful way.
