My friend did his own engine-out service on the 348 he bought last year. If you have the time and keep things organized, you can do this yourself. It’s most likely a winter project and the car will be off its wheels for a few months.

Kia and Ferrari do not produce directly competitive vehicles.
They can either offer less for the trade or not take the trade. Checking for the recalls should be part of the valuation of the trade-in.
2nd Gear: That system is un-manageable at the independent used dealer level. It also sounds like it would be wide open for abuse (which I suspect is the main reason they want it). So shady.
I’ve been critical of the center displays because that look tacked-on. Tying it to the gauge cluster integrates it better. I think I like it. The entire space is probably going to look goofy in five years, but this isn’t a car you keep forever.
It looks like a recently-refreshed hotel room at a Holiday Inn Express.
Using his own KBB against him. It would cost me more than $700 to replace the top on my Miata - and that’s re-using the frame. I’m betting this car’s top is going to cost more than his $700 allowance to repair.
I understand. I think that scenario (2 Cars) is more likely in the suburbs, and this car’s range is just a little short for commuting into town. It can’t be everything to everyone, but if I were making this car I would be making it as well-suited as possible to the commute into town.
I didn’t realize they were doing so well. I knew they made it through the difficult time better than the others, but I didn’t realize they kept up the pace.
This doesn’t give proper credit to the driver in front of the tailgater that doesn’t maintain a consistent speed.
Are you shocked? They’re trying to sell it with a CEL and tires that won’t survive a test drive.
They need more than a power upgrade to justify the price jump from the ST to the RS.
Ford could lose Subaru’s entire sales volume without noticing it on their annual reports.
The styling of this is much less silly than most CUVs currently offered by a Japanese or Korean brand. I also think it’s a lot more elegant than the American offerings, and more subdued and classy than what BMW or Mercedes has.
They only made ~3000 of the things like fifteen years ago, and a good portion of those were probably sold very cheaply or conveniently written off when gas prices surged and SUV values tanked. Parts availability could be an issue.
The profile looks like something from Volvo.
Yay!
It’s hard to grasp because the Smart has always been sold to us as a city car, but this one’s not suited to be the only car for a city dweller.
I need to do more research as to how much the accessories drain the battery. When it snows, it’s always a long commute home and you will have to be running the heater, the ac (for the defroster), wipers and headlights that entire time. I’m curious to see how a minute of those accessories equates to a mile cruising on…
And this particular one has a motorized cover that no longer motors - so you really just have a trunk that you may need to crawl into to retrieve your groceries.
