Even before I read a word of the first letter, I saw the headline at the top and did an audible “Oh shit. Oh fuck oh no oh shit...”

Once you meet someone who’s been through the Christian homeschooling meat grinder, it seems a lot more believable. In my case, I’ve known a few people in various Christian sects that literally had to cut off ties with their family to get out of the nonsense.

OP is simply in for a world of hurt. He’s home schooled, sheltered and comes from an fundamentalist background. His friend is free to roam the world, engage it and grow. He’s hanging onto antiquated ideals that don’t work well in the real world. Sex before marriage is a good idea. Many Christians make a big deal that

I would hate to be the guy who has to go through all that shovelware.

My Dad tried that name, but my Grandmother wouldn’t let him. So what am I saddled with?

“[I] will continue to stand for the sanctity of human life in all stages, right up to the instant of birth, after that fuck ‘em, they can die in the street for all I care.”

You noticed that this bill didn’t include any additional funding for all those disabled children it would create?

[I] will continue to stand for ... the rights of citizens to determine appropriate medical safety standards and procedures through their elected representatives.

...will continue to stand for the sanctity of human life in all stages*...

I’m so glad that Mike Pence is *so* concerned about the sanctity of life. What a hero. It’s a shame he can’t use that tiny little pea brain of his to consider the QUALITY of life that a child with significant abnormalities would have. Or the burden it puts on the mother/parents to provide for them.

Yea that part is really twisted. Not only does this legislation endeavor to force you to carry a nonviable fetus to term, it then forces you to bury or cremate the fetus, I’m supposing on your own dime.

and for the rights of citizens to determine appropriate medical safety standards and procedures through their elected representatives.

the rights of citizens to determine appropriate medical safety standards and procedures through their elected representatives

Man, this bill was not 1337. In fact, one could say it got pwnt. fUx0r3d, even.

Judge Pratt is a friggin hero for blocking this bullshit legislation.

It’s like the law was specifically written to fuck with people who have to abort because of problems with the fetus. Because that’s already such a pleasant experience, why wouldn’t you want some nosy asshole sharing it with you?

1. This warms my soul to the core.

Man, Indiana must be rolling in surplus $$$ if Pence-ildick can throw it at defending this bullshit.

I agree 110%. I trained Jiu Jitsu most of my life, and was a senior level (lvl 4) Army Combatives instructor. I loved the sport, and loved teaching it, but could never jump the mental hurdle associated with hurting people for money in front of a crowd.

It’s like a playground for burners.
