It's only interesting if we feel emotionally why the characters are crossing the lines, and if there's someone to comment on it. Paxton's character could have been the voice of reason in this episode, but instead he's just like "sure, let's go shoot our own people."
I'm totally happy with the idea that SHIELD as a whole is evil — but these guys are supposed to be the exceptions, I thought.
But everybody wasn't angry and emotional. They seemed sort of laid back and cheerful, like always. The first few minutes they seem sad but then Bill Paxton shows up and they seem pretty jolly.
It might not have been a SHIELD facility, it might have just been a facility that partners with SHIELD, run by the military or some other quasi-governmental organization. But it was clearly a friendly organization, one way or the other.
