I thought the same thing about the MPG. We would routinely get 34 MPG highway with our SHO 5 speed complete with SHO FEAR vanity plate.

On big projects, I use a large sheet of cardboard to write down the parts I removed and the size of the fasteners. If there are many fasteners I trace them and drop them into upcycled plastic containers. I jam the special one-off fasteners in the card board next to that step. Reinstall in reverse! Save for next time!

Someone starred this so I just checked the replies. It has never occurred to me to blast one on the up escalator. You could really line one up in the face that way. I’d have to make sure they deserved it.

Someone just starred my post and I came back to check the replies. My favorite was a massive fart I dropped in the hardware store in the fastener aisle which was full of gentleman. I had a 17 year old Italian male foreign exchange student with me. I turned to him and threw my hands in the air as he hurried away half

This is too easy. You know they are getting old. Combine that with Amazon’s inability to market anything.

Reinforced vinyl tubing is rated for 125 to 175 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the manufacturer. It’s borderline for engine bay use and a no-no for coolant. It will melt after a few good heat cycles of the cooling system. The good news is that there is no hood to trap and raise engine bay temps and the hose is rated

Cutting the pistons also removed some of the expensive piston coating on the valve reliefs :-(

The old Merkur Encyclopedia. Good stuff. I’ve got an Esslinger camshaft. I recommend. They don’t list the part typically but they’ll sell it. I had a bigger turbo camshaft with around .600 lift but it wouldn’t clear the flat top pistons when the timing belt slipped. The engine builder I hired used stock size valve

Not sure on the cams. Some say the autos had different cams and so on. I don’t really buy it. They all ran about the same with the right modifications.

For you sir...

Speak of the devil! I just got a check for a whopping $150. That’s 25% of the repair bill. Thanks Porsche. Got the check last night!

LOL. So true. I spent $700 in parts (kit is $500) and took two days to do it in my driveway. I did belts, water pump, and thermostat while I was in there.

Did you just make that up or is there information somewhere I can read about this new tech that combines iActivesense with predicting the need for AWD? I knew they had AWD on crossovers and the predictive safety features are cool (Subaru is a little behind there). It would be nice if the AWD could be turned off to

Adding to the Porsche content. Plastic coolant pipes that burst automatically at 70k miles and a starter under the Cayenne V8 (& V8 TT) intake mani

I agree and hope Mazda and Subaru won’t be eaten up by this rumor. Weird that no one mentioned Toyota and Subaru working together already. One of the best sports cars of this time (BRZ-FRS [rip]) resulted from that work. Also, Toyota and BMW are trying to bring back the Supra.

I’d love a Carrera. An AWD Hellcat is the only Hellcat that makes sense. We almost went with a SRT8 Jeep but landed on a Cayenne TT. With 400+hp two-wheel drive is futile, ignorant, and dangerous.

Totally agree. You simply can’t expect reliablity at that power level if you drive it like a maniac.

Mmm, plasma donuts. Brings a whole new meaning to “hot now”.

Agreed 350hp is plenty but some folks wanna hang with the big boys.

Nice. I wouldn’t mind a 335 or 535. They can be bumped to 400whp but still they are pigs. I’ve picked on a few 335 in the STi.
