I want to just hug you. I was 11 when it happened, I tried to rationalise with “I was a bad girl” and that’s why he did it. I tried ignoring it, and the suppression fucked me over for years. It was escaping a deeply violent and psychologically abusive relationship when I was 35 made me finally start confronting my

One of the best quotes I’ve ever heard is that analysis doesn’t equal immunity. You might know how to break down an issue, look at it from all sides, but at the end of the day it doesn’t mean it can’t happen to you. I find comfort in that phrase, and that knowing 1) people who haven’t experienced my shit still see it

Thank you so much for saying that. And I am....it definitely threw my life off course for a long time, I developed horribly unhealthy relationships with sex and men and develop serious substance abuse issues trying to drown out how I was feeling, but with therapy and the support of my friends and family who are

Thank you so much. It took a lot of therapy and a tremendous amount of completely unconditional support from friends and family to get to this place, but all that matters is that I got here and I’m starting to get my life back.

Good God, I’m sorry that happened to you. Apparently some of it is just about human psychology, too, especially with children. It’s the only way they can make any sense of it.

Well it’s not too surprising trump is evil through and through where as Bush seems like a decent person.

Because it’s a men’s tie.

This bothers me most of all and I don’t even know why.

Nothing says desperate-for-a-free-trip like the label “High class battered woman”.

I like to think that she chooses to go with the “free trip to Chicago!” line because it’s so clearly implausible that people will usually understand it’s a lie, and she’s still not technically violating her agreement.

And she retracted the allegations as part of a child custody agreement, so you know the threat was basically “shut your mouth or we’ll take your kids away” which is just repugnant.

Right? She was married to an extremely wealthy fast food restaurant CEO and yet couldn’t afford a trip to Chicago? Plus, I mean, I love Chicago, but it’s not like “oh, I wanted a free trip to Paris or Rome.”

I only half listened to Rachel Maddow last night when she discussed this, but her hot take ***I think*** was that the video becoming PUBLIC was what did him in. Because THEN we’d all be reminded that Drumpf has several allegations of sexual assault/harassment and abuse against him that no one has been covering

I thought of that too, how humiliating to have to say you only wanted a free trip to Chicago, and that’s why you tried to blow up someone’s life..when you were actually beaten and just want to see your children. Really, really horrible.

Oprah didn’t go public with an (at that time) unsubstantiated allegation — she did take it seriously and reported it, though, which got the ball rolling (not that it went far, but that isn’t on her):

It sucks that people can coerce women into retracting these allegations and having to say shit like “I just wanted a free trip to Chicago” for the rest of their lives.

He’ll be impeached before the wall is built. See u all at the wall protests!!! <3

Mr Darcy is such an emotionally withdrawn character...Austen nailed it.

I think physical character is considered pretty bad thing for women. I’m with you, though - I love it when a celebrity looks different.

Sweet mother of God, this makes 2017 a hundred times better.
