That’s incredibly racist! Assimilation = white? WTF

Wasn’t that the case for Hitler too

As soon as black and brown people stop valuing black and brown men over women.

Not to mention the threat to ones life when you’re an outspoken president of planned parenthood. She’s a shero!

It’s just tone policing of women.

Here’s a thread for you

That’s good. Nice for everyone to be on the same page. It probably makes it easier for people to communicate if they change their mind. I’ve had that happen and he actually stopped mid-sex and I think what made that moment less awkward for both of us was the fact that we both talked about what we were both looking for

I’m only referring to the initial dating process or even finding out if someone is interested in you.

To do away with those views you have to do away with slut-shaming and sexual double standards first. I think when we don’t make that the core focus when discussing archaic courtship many women can sense how that too would put them on a unequal footing.

When you start talking to a woman who you want to have sex with or when you’re on a date that you’re hoping will lead to sex later, do you let your date know what you’re thinking up-front? How do you do it? Do you tell them, hey wanna go to my place or yours and have sex? Or my plan is to go have dinner, watch a show

It’s the combination of power and entitlement. Two things than men have(because society gives it to them) far more often than women. You’re absolutely right, it’s not about being a man or a woman. It’s just that, in our culture, men are usually raised with these traits/status that result in this type of predatory

That’s obviously possible but usually far unlikely to be the case. Women in position of power actually treat their female subordinates with greater equity than men treat women. Your case is one of anecdotal evidence, whereas empirical data shows that companies with female executives have greater number of female

What, no. HRC is not responsible for any of these men’s behavior. The men, however, are responsible for their behavior towards her. The ones who very clearly had biased coverage of her, it is on them for not having been objective. It’s on them for not remaining professional at their job and lacking introspection.

The NYTimes reported the email scandal accurately.

Anyone and everyone can be racist. Racism is prejudice based on skin color/race. Systemic racism, however, is not something that exists against white people.

When women take a harasser they know who never harassed them as reason to exonerate the man, I think it’s either of two things at play. They see sexual harassment as being about looks and they don’t understand why they too wouldn’t be the perpetrators target, therefore he must not have done it. Or they think the

“Oh, women will say it’s harassment if an ugly guy buys them a drink at a bar”

$1000 in fines should be the minimum punishment, not “up to”

This isn’t the first time Stewart has been in this situation though. He did the same thing when it came to Anthony Weiner. He didn’t believe it to be true and denied it until Weiner was out about it. Stewart then had to apologize on air for not being fair in his judgement. He should’ve learned to just not comment and

Right, a victim isn’t less of a victim because of their career or educational level but among that group of elites, their biases should’ve positioned Hill as a credible source in their eyes. It seems bias favoring men is much stronger than classist/elitist bias.
