Preach, Brother Wolf.
Preach, Brother Wolf.
… except for the cult, the mass suicides, the proof being made public, and the lack of (I'm guessing, since I'm pretty sure that'd lead in an AVC review) forcible kidnapping? Yeah, literally.
Not a huge fan of Cumberbatch myself but don't see how that's relevant to the overall quality of the respective shows.
Agreed with the others. AV Club grades have been way harsh, Tai. This season has been totally solid. Watch from episode 1, though.
Did I miss something? Did Mallory show up to the house with only one baby after having had twins?
I think we all get that - the question is how did Sol get Kenny to come to the show.
I still cannot believe this happened.
SAME! Except I can comment but can't grade the ep. ANYHOO - Fen was singing the Eponine part ("One more day, all on my own") and Margo was singing Cosette ("I was born to be with you…") at least in one part. I was laughing too hard in others to be sure if that stayed the same throughout.
Oh - no. That's just - I mean - what? No. Its lows are still miles above from this show's *highs.* (And this past season's lows were pretty fucking low.)
Seriously, though - I don't. I see the grades, I read this recap and thought well maybe I should give it another try, so I watched the last two episodes (since it was a 2 parter, figured I at least was obligated to give it a fair shot). And you know the rest.
I'm terribly sorry but I have to steal this. Send me a bill. Or sue me. That's good too.
NO SOUP FOR YOU!
I'm sure she's proud. But by all means, call a woman names when she disagrees politely with you. It makes your argument so much more persuasive.
I don't disagree but I think what's really behind the gobsmackerment is the understanding that the system is supposed to have a plethora of checks and balances to prevent such f*ckery from resulting in such injustices. Bad cop? Judge will lay the smackdown. Bad judge? Jury will stop that crap. Bad jury? Appellate…
It happens far more frequently than one would think. The state never has to prove motive - it's not an element of the crime. This frees them up to proffer wholly inconsistent theories in sequential proceedings.
Regarding O'Kelly: I disagree. I think what we saw was exactly what it looked like. He wasn't crying over his inexplicable and inexcusable treatment of Dassey. He was moved to tears over that ribbon - over the death of Halbach. In just about every other context I can think of, that would be a wholly appropriate and…
Lots of evidence that we know about - they were blocked from offering up alternative suspects, which meant they couldn't question that sketchy ex the way they needed to, they were blocked from inquiring further of the manager about the messages being deleted, they were hamstrung in a number of instances in pursuing…
It applies to any evidence - including so-called confessions. If the state tried them both together they wouldn't be able to use Brendan's "confession" at all.
Yeah. It's because Brandon had "confessed" but recanted and wasn't testifying for the state as part of a deal. You can't force a criminal defendant to testify against himself, but every defendant has a right to confront all his witnesses which means there's a conflict in cases like this where one defendant confesses…
That's not what "due process" means in toto, John. Are you not aware of that? DP requires a fundamentally *fair* trial. What about any of that circus was fair? Evidence being blocked, testimony rampantly mischaracterized (improperly) by the state, that ridiculous last-minute "test" on the blood vial, Avery being…
