Alright, well, too late to change it all back. I’m happy with my them/they approach—it’s still technically accurate, and better safe than sorry.

Heh, I mean I think that makes the series sound more 80s-retro-awesome than it really is, but go for it!

I’ve only read probably half a dozen of the Vorkosigan saga books, and while many of them had appealing elements and a few of them were “pretty okay,” I just couldn’t get past the ... kinda soap-opera-ish-ness? Wow that was a mess — soapoperosity? Anyway, bit too much focus on romance/relationship dynamics for my

White male patriarchy is a poison that permeates our society. It’s killing us.

I have, also excellent. I don’t really read fantasy, but picked it up because Leckie wrote it and I’m glad I did.

I always tell people that the Ancillary Justice/Radch Space series is really about identity, colonisation, and other “big” themes, but wrapped up in a pretty space opera package.

Have you read The raven tower?

Dooooo iiiiit. Concur with other replies — it’s srsly A+. (Which, you’d think that would be a given, for a Hugo/Nebula nominee, but a lot of stuff that gets nominated is IMO kinda ... not really Major Award Worthy.) (Sorry, Lois McMaster Bujold, but the whole “Vorkosigan Saga” is, like, fantasy-flavored Falcon Crest

It is superb.

It’s Amazing, as are the sequels.

God forbid I be in the position of defending Joan of all people, and I’ve only read the first of the trilogy, but given the centrality of the Cultural Revolution to the events in that book, and specific Chinese cultural touchstones in the character’s inner lives, I’d think it’s fair to say that it’s Chinese origins

The show was pretty good until they ran out of book and none of the top notch actors could save the show.

I spent the majority of my life living near a couple of the richest zip codes in the country. Rich people style comes in a few flavors:

But I thought they cared about babies and mommies! /s

I feel like I should speak up for a (probably small) demographic. I care deeply about abortion rights, and have since I was about 10. BUT I don’t always click on each story for the simple reason that 1. I know it will piss me off and I have a 4yo in lockdown and can’t afford to lose any more patience than I already do

With older men, it’s often, as others have said, because they can’t cope by themselves, life-skills-wise. [my father, since separating from my mother, has taken the slightly more honest route of renting a room out to lodgers, who he expects to do the cooking and cleaning for him]

It’s like it makes them nervous that _they_ are drinking, like they need confirmation from everyone around them that it’s ok. It’s pretty sad really.

There’s hope sister. Been single 5 years. was ready to die alone. Said I was not dating unless a wild unicorn crossed my path. Wild unicorns do exist, be open to them. My wild unicorn is nothing like I imagined. He’s 7 years younger and loves to sing me love songs each night on the phone before bed. I met him
