Hmmm, I have actually never read that before! Someone else in the comments (I think right below this thread) referenced an interview Rooney did with The Advocate, which was what I was thinking about. Apparently there is some controversy behind that one, as well.

Hmm. To be honest, I think that's stretching it a little. I've been to a lot of baby showers recently and I always say I'm going to go buy, say, Kelly a gift. But the gift is still for the baby. But you're right ... who really knows?

I'm not saying it gets a pass. But I'd rather someone be honest about their opinions rather than covering it up with faux concern. That's all I was getting at.

He was a cranky racist, but I still have SOME respect for someone who owned up to their opinions their entire life, whatever anyone else thought of him be damned. I'd rather have that than the faux "This isn't racist because I have a black friend" culture we apparently now live in.

You're right, of course, but my main point was that I don't think this is a story that's about to go quietly into the night. (Though I definitely wish it would!)

* There's a post over at BlindGossip.com that's obviously referring to Bieber and basically saying that there are many other cases. Two points here - first, this is an actual BG tip, and they're actually fairly accurate. And second, I fail to share Jezebel's optimism that this is a story that will go quietly into the

I was about to post that while I think this is wrong, the store's response was a total overreaction; however, this explanation gives an entirely different perspective. I do think that, if they intended to steal and got caught BUT had the money and offered to pay, then the store should have just taken the money.

In Kate Hudson's defense, I am one of those annoying people who begins speaking in whatever accent I am immersed in at the time. I have a natural, Southern accent, but it quickly changes around my Noo Yawk grandma. And when I hear a British accent for a while (like in a movie), I begin to adapt my voice to that. And I

Truthiness: My puppy is named after him.

Holy crap! That is definitely the best day ever.

The best thing is that while his facial expression LOOKS happy, his eyes are clearly saying "Please save me, annebullen and RayBradbury's_ElephantMonastery. And then I'll take you both to a fancy dinner."

Yeah, but the grandfather was one of the best parts of the movie. When he says "As you wish" at the end, I cry every single time dammit.

YES!! We must join forces to bring that trio of hoes down.

I'm way too distracted by my deep and abiding love for Colbert to even be bothered to read this entire post.

I hate that a.) I'm defending Bieber and b.) I'm saying something's not rape, but c.) this doesn't sound like rape to me. I get that "relent is not consent," but according to the source, he told her that he wanted to "make love" to her on the walk to the restroom, and she continued walking with him. His demeanor

I actually think this is pretty smart on her part. Plus, my spidey sense tells me that there will be others who come forward, who didn't have settlements and maybe didn't even speak up at the time due to pressure/embarrassment/whatever.

Seriously. If someone is buying $32 worth of FOOD in change, that is a person who needs help. Period.

Exactly. I posted this somewhere else, but if you're trying to buy $32 worth of GROCERIES in change, then you clearly need help instead of more complications.

She's not accusing him of rape, but she did say that she asked him to wear a condom and he refused.

Ha! Yeah, there's a line between making a point and just screwing yourself over ...
