I don't think those are good reasons to just not address a weight problem. Let's turn this around: Someone who is clearly underweight walks in with a cold. The doctor suspects the patient is anorexic. Should s/he just not say anything? Recommend another doctor? What is the doctor's medical responsibility in that case?

I refuse to accept that as a reason why a medical professional shouldn't address the issue. I agree that pushing an obviously sore subject just creates resentment, but that shouldn't be a reason to just not bring it up at all.

And that's what this blog post addresses. My original comment was remarking on how it's unreasonable to expect a doctor to never comment on your weight, whether it's low or high or normal. There's a right and wrong way to do it, though.

You're right in that it's a fine line. I've lost 15 pounds so far (10 more to go, what what!) but high blood pressure runs in my family. My mom had a stroke at 46, so it's an issue I'm very aware of, and my doctor makes sure to let me know that while I have great blood pressure now, I need to keep my weight in check

I highly recommend Clinique for moisturizer. And the best thing is that you can always get samples of that stuff in those free gift bags if you spend $XX (usually around $20).

So Obama wasn't invited? WHAT a snub to him!

I rock Dress Barn. I'm rocking Dress Barn right now. And I look AWESOME.

Apparently they now have bracelets, but I know when I was born my mom had my dad mark the bottom of my foot with a Sharpie and follow me around.

No, I did that all the time when I was younger and pissed at my parents ... but I usually ended up making myself cry because I would realize how great my parents are. I was obviously an emotionally confused child.

I love this movie and certainly don't mind there being a re-make, but I have to echo the sentiments of ... what need is there for this?

The fact that this just happened in the United States makes me sick to stomach. I seriously feel that this will become something we see more and more.

If I were a man, I think I would be offended by how stupid they're assuming men are. While the message doesn't thrill me, I think the ads are better than those insipid Axe commercials.

Comment of the day! Also, you scare me a little.

At first I read that as you gave your mom the "best in bed" award, and was seriously confused/horrified.

Does anyone get OWN? I would probably watch it because some of the programming appeals to me, but I don't get it.
