would you wear this comforter? [tears of joy emoji]

I remember reading something about how he was always willing to help out with repairs.

The plague killed millions, spread by fleas from mice, so he’s got an ancestor that is complicit!

He always waved!

“I am not as comfortable with this one as the last one.”

I love true crime and there is no greater scourge to the field as fuckers who idealize the perpetrators. One of the many reasons why I am fascinated by the genre is the story it tells about a neglectful and incompetent justice system. One that actively ignores and disregards victims while denying their responsibility

Genius serial killer:

In the Apple news feed I read that and laughed. Then I felt like a real asshole.

It’s amazing that they would rather call this guy a genius killer than recognize that law enforcement messed up time and time again. The term “less dead” is sometimes used because law enforcement doesn’t view crime against women of color, sex workers, drug addicts, as important as other crimes.

“What makes you believe that it’s okay to come to a college campus, like this, when we are supposed to be promoting diversity on this campus, which is what we’re taught.”

Racism is, in fact, contagious.

Ugh. Shit like this is why I roll my eyes when people say things like “I can’t wait for the Boomer generation to die out so we don’t have to deal with this kind of nonsense anymore.” Um, their kids are JUST LIKE THEM, if not worse.

Damn this hit a bit home, the majority of my coworkers are white. Lately they have been joking about their white privilege. For example “oh I have WHITE PRIVILEGE, so I have a car.”

Yep. There’ll be fierce storms and heavy rainfall through most of the North Atlantic/ North Sea at this point. We’ve just had a couple of cruise ships port in the town I live in, and the their frozen, seasick, bedraggled denizens have been moping around town, a sorry sight to behold. :(

I have had the EXACT same fantasy.

Right, the tourist town was closed because tourist season is over. Who goes on a cruise this time of year? I'm sure it was super cheap, but when something is super cheap, you have to ask yourself "why?"

the only cruise i would ever do is a viking river cruise. this is because their ads before PBS Masterpiece always made me want to be an elegant retiree gliding along the rhone with my aging but still dashing lawyer husband while taking in the sights of ancient europe, but also because it’s a river so if the boat

If what your day is missing is a good ugly cry, here’s a piece from NPR on a camp for kids whose parents are struggling with opioid addiction. Good that it exists. Terrible that it has to. And how much these kids still love their parents in spite of everything breaks my heart in half.

HBO gets new Sesame Street content exclusively for the first 6 months it’s out, then it’s given to PBS for wider distribution. So in the end everything is out and free to the public. It’s a decent compromise that makes the show sustainable.

$25 for a shitty old goblin cut is still pretty expensive anyway.
