Ooh I'll look into it!

Well Wuthering Heights probably was a teen romance back in the day, lol. (I personally am not a fan of the Brontes and reading Wuthering Heights made me so angry I threw the book at a wall.) And I kind of get why they "Twilight-ed" the covers to capitalize on the sudden boom. But it's like they're totally missing the

True, this is a point I didn't consider.

Nothing, except they are all I ever see on all the books I enjoy reading. It's like if the book is sci-fi/fantasy or marketed as YA, the cover inevitably features a white girl (either stylized with pretty graphics or flanked by a white guy), even when the book doesn't explicitly state that the protagonist is white.

Good point.

LOL well as long as guys are taking their time, they can groom or not groom as they please. I just imagine the emergency room horror stories...I already hear these things about ladies when they're grooming and the razor slips. :D

Right? In fact ebooks make it easier for me to ignore bad writers!

This is good to know. I do hope cover art starts to be more interesting though, I'm really tired of all the books now going with Twilight style covers, or trying to make it super artsy with pictures of skinny white girls.

This makes me super sad because it means the big publishing houses will continue to publish crap books. Meanwhile, authors writing really good stuff are relegated to very limited self-publishing or having to go the ebook route, and dammit I still like paper books!

At this point I'm 99% certain there will be no wedding/babies for me (by choice, I just don't want to share my space with other people). So while I'm happy my friends are getting married and stuff, I also refuse to participate in any of the madness. They will get a small, thoughtful gift from me and like it.

That is the worst. I've been lucky, since I moved to my new neighborhood everyone I encounter on the streets while dog walking will either give me ample room (and I return the favor) or call out "is your dog friendly?" before allowing their overly friendly mutt to approach. My dog generally doesn't mind meeting new

Right? It's all a system of checks and balances. You use this time to take care of your kids, who will hopefully become a productive member of society one day. I use the time to take care of myself, which makes me a more productive member of society right now.

Anything that you choose to do which changes the way you live your life is a lifestyle choice.

+1

And so is my dog.

I agree. There's this whole "have a great career and family too!" concept that makes it seem like if you don't have both, your life just isn't that great. I'm single with a dog, I live by myself in a place I purchased, I have a job I enjoy that pays enough for me to do the things I like. I don't travel as much as I

I still can't picture any dude shaving his balls. It just seems so risky.

Fuck that I love doing laundry! Nothing better than pulling out clean clothes and smelling the warm delicious dryer smell and folding into neat little piles. But if someone told me "men are going to line up to marry you, a wife that actually enjoys doing laundry!" I would punch that person in the face for insinuating

But only if this kid wants to get married. She's probably not even dating yet, so telling her "you're going to make a good wife" is just reinforcing the message that being someone's wife should be her first and foremost goal.

Or even "These cookies are fantastic, I'm jealous of your friends who must get to eat them all the time!" would be okay.
