I’m relieved to hear your parents were out of town and safe but I’m so sorry about the house.

My mom lives in Santa Rosa and I’ve been staying with her until I move to San Francisco in November (I’d been out of the country since late last year and just got back about a month ago). Her home was pretty close to one of the fires but is safe as far as we know. We evacuated a bit south to be out of the way but…

This week was the worst and I keep alternating between crying out of sadness/stress and crying because of how kind people up here are being to each other. I want to hug a firefighter.

When you start out bald, you’re kind of ageless.

The show would have benefited by Chris Carter stepping away and handing control over to one of the better writers.

I think the early mythology stuff was really good but after a while it got both boring and complicated. The random case episodes were probably more reliable that way. Most of my favorite episodes are the random cases.

Maybe even stop at the end of Season 8.

The X-Files has broken my heart a few times. It’s so mean to its characters.

That was a goddamn delight and I like to pretend it was the only new episode.

Please be good. The last season was mostly terrible. Then again, I don’t know how it could possibly be worse than the last season so...

Sorry, I just needed a little levity today.

Cynthia Nixon always seemed pretty chill. I remember her being interviewed on the Daily Show after that big blackout in NYC around 2003ish. She said she and her neighbors barbecued all the bacon she had in her fridge and ate all the ice cream. Which sounds like a pretty great block party.

I’m sad there won’t be a Sex and the City 3 because that means no Lindy West review of it.

I’ve been enjoying him so much that it didn’t occur to me he’d come off as irritating to anyone. And I get it...but I still love him and I’ll be sad when he bets too much and doesn’t know the answer.

I mean, I’d never go to the lengths this woman has. But still. How depressing.

How did I never realize the same author wrote The Stepford Wives AND Rosemary’s Baby? Interesting.

I have my own body image issues and wish my nose was smaller, etc. Is it weird that my reaction after reading this was to try to love myself more?

She had a cameo in The Muppets Take Manhattan. As a kid, I think I gave anyone who appeared in a Muppet movie a free pass for life. But I’m glad she seems like a cool enough person.

Who knew the host of The Man Show would end up giving such incisive political commentary?
