The roller rink episode was also the one where I finally liked Melrose. It was the moment she started air-drumming with tampons and singing “We’re finally a team! We’re finally a team!” because their periods synced up.

The roller rink episode was the best! I loved when they all started howling. I loved how they put Sheila’s age in wolf years on the cake (“We figured it out. It was a whole thing.”) I loved Jenny freaking out over it all and being told at the end “She’s having fun. You did your job.”
Well, she’s so sweet. But we also know a little more of her backstory than the other girls at this stage and what we know makes us root for her.

The original messages seem less horrifying if you hear the horn section and imagine Chevy Chase mugging to the camera. Wait no, they’re even more horrifying now.
They sound like lyrics to a really fucked up version of “You Can Call Me Al.”
The sad thing is that in better hands, a show starring Kathy Bates as a pot dispensary owner could be SO GREAT.
I retroactively enjoy shows from the past that used laugh tracks–especially if there was actually a live studio audience doing the laughing. Anything current that utilizes one ensures that I avoid it right out of the gate.
I was so excited until the laugh track.
My dad used to observe that the funniest actors were the ones who could surprise you in a drama.
Some of her SNL characters were annoying but generally I’ve really liked her in movies.
Damn. No awkward mambo set to “Spice Up Your Life.”
I still swoon a little about David Duchovny. I don’t think he’s gross, but I have actively avoided his “music career.”
I flipped out the first time I saw that picture (after I flipped out discovering Tom Waits and Bette Midler's duet). Too much cool. Cannot take it.
