I’m okay with a potluck if it's with people I want to eat with. But I do draw that circle fairly small. If it's someone I'd be willing to share a hotel room with, I'm happy to eat with them. Beyond that, I'd just rather not. No matter who supplies the food.
Off the potluck topic, but what is it with snacks at kids sports? It’s what? An hour of running around? Can’t they manage an hour without eating? When my daughter played (under 8) soccer, there’d be parents at the game with fruit, and juice boxes, and timbits. Crazy. This expectation to have snacks available ALL THE…
I think the aspect of life being called “Imposter Syndrome” is different from simply different motivations to learn. It’s more the fear that you haven’t learned what you think you should know.
This was my kidlings’ entry in a sandcastle competition last week. There was much kerfuffle ahead of time, with artistic differences, and questionable management styles; by Team Fluffy Penguin pulled it together and managed to cooperate, with no outside refereeing needed. Wow! What an interesting life! She sounds like an awesome lady.
Gorgeous!
Think how much your dogs will enjoy another 2.5 hours a day playing with you in the new place. :-)
Congratulations on the house.

Excellent. Congratulations!
My garden started late, had a chilly season, and has been ignored by all except some hungry insect. So I fear my tomatoes are a write-off. Still, in spite of neglect we had peas and beans last week, and I should have some decent carrots and beets. I’ve also got chard and kale growing. My pumpkins and globe zucchini…
My neighbour grows corn on her balcony. She is my gardening hero.
This made me laugh.
That was me! I once had to sit down and rest walking across a parking lot.
Congrats!
This was beautiful, and I think it is good that we are moving towards giving people choice and control over the last stage of their life. Though I do hope that as a society we also put more resources into extended care needs - help for families, hospice, pain relief - whatever it entails.
Yes! This was my thought too. They sound like a lovely idea for women who prefer them, (and I’d say they are vital for women who need to pump), but using them is a mother’s choice, not a requirement.
You both need better cheese.
Quite aside from his behaviour, I am mystified by how a spouse could also be coach. I've never competed at high level sport, but it's just not a combination of roles I can understand at all.
