Oh, those Streets of Fire songs!! Awesome.

I dunno. Wasn't he the only guy who could actually sing all the lyrics to "Hot Patootie" in RHPS in time?

Doh!

Interesting! It does make me want to watch the movie again, thanks for the link!

I may have asked you this before, but have you ever read THE WAY YOU WEAR YOUR HAT: Frank Sinatra and the Lost Art of Livin'?

Yes. The remakes look cool, because they're made to look cool, featuring guys doing things that are intended to look cool. The original Pack didn't need to do things intended to look cool, because they just WERE fucking cool.

I think (perhaps) the way to make yours the definitive version—aside from making it as good as you can, hopefully better than the original—is to remake a movie that was perhaps underseen/underrated/underreviewed, or a movie that you watch and think, "So much wasted potential!"

Agreed. I'm not a big DiPalma fan myself, but The Untouchables is fucking amazing. Even if the rest of the movie was shit, it would deserve a high place in film for the train station sequence—but the rest of the film is also awesome.

Yeah, I had to SMH over that one, too. Lousy? It's delightful.

I'd sure like to find the Julie Andrews remake, actually. I'd love to watch that again, but it seems to be one of those movies that's kind of fallen through the cracks.

I have seen that movie so, so many times (my big brother was an LOTR-head—still is). I had a huge crush on cartoon Aragorn as a child.

Show me how the piggies eat!

It's my favorite of the books, too!

I sometimes feel like I'm the only person in the world who liked Paul Blart: Mall Cop. It wasn't a great movie, no, but it was cute and amusing for the most part—I'm a sucker for a Die Hard parody anyway, since it is one of the greatest and most perfect movies ever made.

I love Dean Winters in everything. (But the Vulture is especially good. His band!)

THANK YOU!! I can't wait to try this.

You can certainly see it that way, sure. :-)

I don't understand why so many seem to dislike Stiles. Lumen was my favorite Dexter love interest hands down.

Can someone please help me? I have tried numerous times to make teriyaki sauce at home. It seems so easy: equal parts soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sake. It never tastes like teriyaki. I've done it without the sake; still doesn't taste right. I've added less sugar; still doesn't taste right. WTF am I doing wrong,

It's not "fast food," but if you're talking midwestern pizza and not mentioning Imo's, then, well…um, you should be, because it is awesome. St. Louis Style forever!
