Oh, totally. My MIL is the one who turned me on to this version—she told me it was her favorite, and asked me if I wanted to watch it with her one evening while we were visiting her (our relationship is not close, particularly, but we both love these classic-novel adaptations), so I was in—and I was pretty much

It's so good, isn't it? I love pretty much everything about it. I've seen several (though not all) of the other adaptations, and while I think they all have some points in their favor, none of them come close to matching this one for me.

True. I was thinking they were the same as far as DNA etc., just on different worlds, but it's certainly possible that they actually have different blood rather than just using different names for their blood types.

The other day we were watching LoT, and it occurred to me why he was such a good choice for Superman or any other "good superhero" type. It sounds kind of weird to say, but there seems to be an innate goodness about him; he *looks* like a good person, a kind and virtuous one, you know? It's easy to buy him as a

First thing I thought of (this episode just aired here). Really, nobody's going to object when the kids declare they're going to wait out the thunderstorm in a big vat of water? That's…safe.

"Hell is coming with me!"

Yeah, he doesn't beat Reeves for me, but he was much better than people claimed at the time. I'm so glad to see him doing so well on Arrow/LoT.

Testify!

"…but I don't think that negates the review or makes it any less worthy as a well-articulated expression of Rabin's opinion."

Well, twice in the article he compared Hammond to a dull uncle who has nothing interesting to talk about—first in saying he thought that's what Hammond was/would be like, and next by saying he was right and that despite some of the more compelling parts of the book, it proves that Hammond is like a dull uncle with

Ugh, I sincerely hope no one thinks Keira Knightley's Elizabeth Bennet will never be outmatched. She was awful, and the way Elizabeth's character was changed in that version was awful, and that movie was awful.

It actually makes me sad how much I like Paltrow as Pepper, when I dislike her so intensely everywhere else.

I love Robert Stephens, so so much. What a man.

And some of us believe the publication of WATCHMAN was an injustice inflicted on an elderly woman not capable of saying "no."

No shit.

My brother is one! Yaaay D.Pharms!

That is GREAT news! I'm so happy to hear it!

Hmm. I don't agree. I get the feeling from the review that Rabin feels cheated that someone with such an interesting life is so dull, and cheated that Hammond didn't offer more salacious SNL stories and/or insult various people Rabin dislikes. I think he absolutely was saying he thinks Hammond is a dull person, or at

THEY DIED OF DELICIOUS.

Well, don't forget, there's video on the internet of Paris listlessly jerking about in an approximation of dancing in place as a rap song plays in the background, and then laughingly saying to her also-listlessly-dancing friend, "We look like a couple of n-words." (Only she didn't say "fudge," if you know what I mean.)
