I did! I noticed! :-)

That was one of our favorite things about it, too. The scene of them all having dinner together and sharing video of Cassie's cartwheel was really nice to see, especially because it wasn't a "oh, they can get along for the sake of Cassie" but because they seemed to all be genuinely getting along. And especially since

Lol, my husband and I keep having to turn up the volume and rewind.

Ah, okay. I thought maybe you were referring to something beyond the use of a control group and the ethical necessity of informing patients of the possibility of placebo, which I agree is real.

You need the placebo for "control." "Control" (the placebo group) is the group that proves the drug's results aren't the result of wishful thinking or the belief that one is healing or whatever.

How so? It doesn't seem so to me, but perhaps you have more experience than I do?

THAT's what bothers me the most about this placebo situation and the way the trial is being portrayed. Yes, double-blind studies (which is basically what's being done) happen, and they happen with cancer drugs and other lifesaving drugs. But if the drug group starts showing amazing results, they don't just leave the

Eh, they might, if they just really don't give a shit/are totally confident/are sadistic.

Yeah, that was the one sour note of the episode for me, too. "Danny Boy," really? Why don't you beat us over the head with it a little harder next time?

I dunno. I was thinking about this earlier, and wondering if maybe she will make it through the season, after all. We know she's dead in S1 but it's possible she died several years later. The Coens et al know we're all expecting her to die, waiting for her to die; wouldn't it be a twist to let her live?

Apologies. I had the wrong dates in my head.

That makes me sad.

The definition those studies used was 4+ victims previously unknown to or unconnected with the shooter, in a public place. (If memory serves; I re-checked the numbers before posting but only glanced at the definition again, having read the studies when they came out.)

No, but they both have very restrictive gun laws. (And 2012 and 2014 doesn't count as "many years ago.")

Wow. You really insist on reading a lot into what I'm saying, don't you?

And I'm glad you felt the need to reply to me, over and over again.

So the businesses who give them money aren't made up of citizens?

Well, I'm sorry I responded to you politely below, since you're being so nasty to me.

Pulled on folks like me?

Sadly, it seems it does. The level of knowledge and curiosity here is making me really depressed.
