This seems like a reasonable move, as the career you are eyeing isn’t some hyper-competitive industry full of young dickheads. Even if you fail to get a position in counseling this life change will be good interview fodder later, as it is nothing but admirable to try for something that helps people.

Yeah, it’s not the commute that’s the issue, it’s that I never really want to talk to famous people and I assume they wouldn’t enjoy talking to me. I guess I’m not really much of a conversationalist in general.

I wanted to read up on this incident from some other sources, so I googled Jemel’s name. Skimming the results, I noticed something telling, that foxnews went out of its way to emphasize that the shooting was an “accident,” and everyone else was reporting the facts without editorializing.  Imagine that.

Yes, you are correct, Moore’s take was “too soon” to be heard. I’ve always thought it was the most impressive thing he ever did because he was so far ahead of the curve and he was able to prove it in front of a live audience of well-respected people.

That reminds me of the somewhat prestigious pizza restaurant in Brooklyn that was dumb enough to tweet out that they were going to add an extra service charge to pay for Obamacare expenses.  They went out of business a few years later.  Know your audience.  :)

The other person covered a lot of this (like the fact that you might be served by a whole team of people) but also a $300 meal had better take a fucking while, and your waiter had better be an experienced and dedicated professional.

I’ll just add that there are a few good ”service included” restaurants in NYC now, which moves us away from tipping in a gradual way.

It’s also plausible that this is something a person would say as a joke, and he never actually relied on a taco johns wifi signal to do work.

Let's face it, she hates this person for reasons which may or may not be related to the unapproved expenses.

Get out of here, steak frites is french or belgian or some shit and it is glorious. The fries are little shoestring types and they are salty as hell, and they bathe in the juices of your steak. Meanwhile you are also consuming two pints of belgian ale or a bottle of cabernet. Go to a nice city, have dinner at a

Splitting a ceasar salad is good with pizza. You obviously don’t want to eat a whole salad because there is pizza to eat, but having a few bites between slices mixes things up nicely.

It is certainly fair to say that the Witnesses are not a scam to enrich those at the top, unlike Scientology.

Citing someone like Oz is a good argument, but an unintended consequence is still a consequence, I guess. Mark Burnett & co. had enough information to know who they were dealing with, and they still put him on TV. Burnett has since tried to ingratiate himself with Hollywood by saying that this is not what he wanted,

I don’t think it’s fair to point to NBC and The Apprentice as culpable for the Trump presidency.

Eh, he came somewhat close to losing the the election for his third term (51% to 46%), acted like a prissy dick for those last four years, and finished with a 49% approval rating. I wouldn’t say that NYC loves him that much. Many of the things he tried to accomplish (like non-partisan local elections and the big soda

One reason you probably don’t know too many real psychopaths is because there aren’t too many; they make up about one percent of the general population...

And there really is no possible screening process that’s actually going to work. In NYC Eric Adams was on my TV trying to promote a law that would require a social media check on every gun applicant. But you KNOW that if they ever enact anything like that the world will be flooded with whiny motherfuckers complaining

Yeah, but the fact that the show is “taped in front of a live audience” is no guarantee that the laughing you hear isn’t heavily edited. They could very well reuse a reaction from a different joke if they wanted to. I mean, why wouldn’t they fuck with it, it’s not a documentary about what audiences find funny.

what was your knee-jerk reactive point?

To widen the question out a bit — for those of you who are in long-term relationships, how strongly is it grounded in physical attraction? I would say that the strongest aspect in selecting my spouse was her overall attitude about life - we were actually just buddies at first and the physical aspect was almost
