This song absolutely killed me the first time I watched this after I had kids. Like, hiccuping through tears sobs. I think my kids thought I was unhinged. But I loved it despite the pathos. Most Pixar movies have this moment, of course, but frankly, I think Onward was a misstep. It was the first time I cried and was

Reply All episode #158--The Case of the Missing Hit. A mystery about an earworm that may or may not be entirely fabricated. Completely mesmerising from beginning to end.

This was way funnier than I expected it to be.

My mother rented a beach house in California for her birthday for a week and my family and my brother all stayed there and enjoyed the waves. Last meal out was at a fantastic Chinese place there the night before we flew home to Canada. That was the last week of February. Sob.

This is probably my family’s most used movie quote.

I dunno. This movie is...fine? I rewatched it recently with my 8 y.o. daughter, and we liked it, but I was underwhelmed by it yet again. And I love Charlie Cox on Daredevil. No comparison to Princess Bride, in my estimation.

Don’t worry, it’s his sister!

Yeah this seems like one of those “used piano” situations. Nobody realizes that absolutely no one wants to buy their old piano, and they will probably have to pay $$ just to have someone haul it out of their house.

Oh no! My 8 y.o. daughter loves Splash. She occasionally asks to watch it, out of the blue. She can’t remember the name, though, so she asks for “That movie with the mermaid who comes into the city”.

I watched Airplane and two Naked Gun movies with my kids, and they loved them! The great thing is the more adult humor goes directly over their heads, but they still laugh at the absurdity.

One of the great joys of being a parent is introducing something to your kids from your youth and having them really enjoy it. My 15 y.o. son’s favorite movie is Back to the Future and its sequels. Has been since he saw it. He even dressed as Marty McFly for Halloween 5 years ago. So yes, show this one to your kids,

No one seems to be talking about Melissa Errico’s “Children and Art”, and it was absolutely my favorite of the night. Gorgeous song beautifully sung.

This isn’t so much a clip, but it is something I always watch when I am feeling down. Jeremy Jordan singing Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now”. It is completely wonderful, mostly because Jeremy Jordan is one of the best singers currently working, but also because he alternately plays into the song’s

This! I mean, I laugh at most of them quite a bit, but this one was particularly funny. I thought it was better than the Halloween Heist episode by a large margin.

I don’t think I’ve seen any of the films on this list except for Fat Girl, and I never ever want to see Fat Girl ever again ever. Never ever. Calling that ending “shocking” is the understatement of the year. That said, I have always wanted to see The Heartbreak Kid, and the David Bowie movie sounds interesting.

And I just realized this was posted more than a year ago. Hi from the future! It sucks! Wash your hands!

Yeah, Cover is Not the Book is not a great song, and the way it is staged just feels a little...sweatily going for our joy jugulars, rather than just trying to entertain, if you can understand what I mean. Lin Manuel Miranda and Emily Blunt shouldn’t have to work so hard to charm us, I think.

When I first got to college, a friend of mine was really into the Beatles. Now, my mom had been one of those screaming 14 year-old fans way back in the day, but I was pretty ignorant of their oeuvre. This friend made me a mixtape of all her favorite Beatles songs, including a lot of the more obscure ones (Baby’s in

I watched it recently, too, and agree. It is the cartoony slapstick that makes it unbearable. And I don’t necessarily want to defend Kate Capshaw’s acting, because, no, but I understood what she was going for this time around. She was just pitching her performance to the same level as the movie. That it was a nearly

He is really the weakest of all the leads. And he keeps getting roles in every damn thing. Why????
