Amen. My favorite is the furious scrubbing of the cheek of the defaced statue in the hallway. Or is that in the "It's dull you twit" scene? Also, "You. My room. Ten o'clock, tonight. You, Ten thirty. And bring a friend."

Oh my god, thank you. That scene had me shaking and crying and laughing and I couldn't stop. "Beautiful and cathartic" is exactly the right way to describe it. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
I don't understand the constant vitriol in the comments on these reviews, which have been amazing, Donna. I think this show is really bringing it home in a great way, and this episode was just tons of fun. The long con totally got me, even if I did notice the big fake Laser Tag sign, and the reveal was adorable. I…
It was very sad. He seemed like a very nice man, just dealing with some horrible health stuff. The audience was not sympathetic.
I actually played in an orchestra for a couple of outdoor concerts with Liza MInelli in upstate New York, sometime in the late 90s. It was her and Dudley Moore, if you can believe it. She was absolutely amazing, did an entire dance number even though she was still recovering from some surgery. Mr. Moore was, um, okay.…
I have a painting of that theater hanging over my fireplace right now. Bought it in Raleigh, and it is my favorite piece of art I own. Quite a shock to see a picture of it on AV Club. (for the curious, the marquee in the painting says "Eternal Sunshine")
I know this is kind of shouting into the abyss at this point, but I wanted to add my two cents of disapproval. I'm not complaining about the design, which is annoying but live-withable, but the removal of notifications is a SEVERE drawback. That was a useful function that no other site had, and that I used to keep…
Thank you, yes, I agree with everything you have said here. Nice to see someone defend her and have a good position to go along with it. I tend to revert to "I just like her, okay?? Shut up!" which doesn't work so well. You have articulated exactly how I feel.
I totally agree, re: Fitz and Simmons. Every previous episode had me yawning whenever they started their schtick, but this episode was good at really establishing that relationship, and making me care about it. When he is yelling "Gemma!" and yanking at the door, I teared up for sure.
This ranking is pretty spot on, well done.
@avclub-943bed14192fee046510105155dd9073:disqus That's for damn sure. That is what is crazy about this show, some dumb procedural crap, but such amazing character work that I keep coming back for more. I love this show.
She was embarrassingly terrible. I knew she was the killer the second she appeared in those ridiculous glasses.
"Give the bag to Bozo!"
Have you read Ursula Le Guin's essay "On Despising Genres"? It goes into this issue in depth. I don't know if you can find it online anymore, since it is included in a book now.
Wow, I am jealous. Did the Folksmen do "Corn Wine"? It was in the extras on the dvd, and always made me laugh like a loon.
Good call! That episode was terrifying. The implacability of the shooter was just horrific.

and has buttered scones for tea!
Oh my god, how did I miss this? One of my absolute favorite movies as a teenager. I had a major thing for Matthew Modine, and it mainly centered around this movie. My favorite moments are the scene where he climbs awkwardly into that twin bed with Michelle Pfeiffer to spoon, and when she washes his hair at the salon…
They aren't even parallel! I guess "erudition" and "dauntlessness" don't have the same ring.
Yes, @avclub-76a67a02dfd51c3ff692aaf693b91039:disqus , it was Braca's survival that threw me for a loop as well. Like I said, Scorpius' survival seems believable, if only in that "You can't freaking kill that guy" way. But Braca is a minion. Just a little shot of them both leaping into another vault, or hiding in a…
