‘Cancel Culture’ is most often ‘consequences culture’, and consequences are something that people in power abhor.

Madonna seems less like the icon she should be and more like a thirsty TikTok teen. I enjoy some of her music, but I’ve always found her personality incredibly grating. Plus she likes to whine about people copying her, but she conveniently leaves out all the shit she rips off.

During the early 2000s he’d break character and laugh at the camera on saturday night live and everyone ate it up like the idiots they were.

Seeing Jimmy Fallon reminds me that I don’t find him funny in the least.

I watched the film just tonight. It’s nuanced and pretty impactful. Perhaps watch it before you criticize it because you don’t like a thing the director did? That snark and dismissal actually points to the importance of this film.

I thiiiink I told this story like ten years ago here, but it may have been somewhere else. Anyway, here it is again!!

Where does most museum funding come from? Rich donors.

I can’t believe no one’s done/tried this before.

That’s what I’m saying.  She should totally lean in to everything that happened.  Make a big show of being huge USC fans, everything.  Would be fucking hilarious as shit.  I’d watcha  reality show about their family that is just them going to every USC sporting event and cheering like crazy because it’s their

Good riddance to this awful pedophile.

Cool. Now put Bill Cosby back in jail.

Someone said it well last week: “Jezebel isn’t even trying anymore.”

Oh, I get it: *he’s* terrible, so therefore we call *her* a prostitute. Makes sense.

I said the same thing on Twitter and tagged Dateline.  Once a month do an episode on someone other than the white killer of the week.

How about for every Gabby Petito story Jezebel publishes, you publish two stories about BIPOC women who are missing and/or murdered?

This is the most probable outcome for him unfortunately.  What his parents know and when they came to know it will be a big part of the story next.

Rightfully, criticism has been aimed at the fact that the media wouldn’t be covering this to such an extent if Gabby wasn’t a pretty white girl.

I find the hand-wringing around this one so weird. I get the exhaustion over these “Lady John Wick” films that have been pumping out already, but I found Kate to be a fun genre exercise: it is what it is, and while its doing nothing particularly new, it’s anchored by some stunning set pieces and an actress who handles
