There used to be a 1600px limit on pic size...maybe that's been upgraded and they don't know it yet.

I've got to take the time and start checking out all their Twit feeds...I'd love to see what Hobbs has to say now that he's using these new-fangled technology thingys.

Favorite quotes from the 2011 Formula 1 German GP weekend:

Hooray! Superman's here...he can save Lois Lane from Catwoman! wait, what? Isn't Catwoman...oh, never mind.

I saw that "MARK II"...damn, that sounds pretty fast!!

Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

I've been going there for training for work for over 20 yrs. Not bad once you get used to it...definitely a different pace. And don't get me started on construction! They've been working on that 35/40 split in OKC ever since I've been going down there!!

That's what I'm saying...they should assume there's gonna be a gun there and they'll never be surprised. If the guy had any intention of trying to use it he's not going to tell the cop about it in the first place. Look at it this way, do you think if I tell him "no, I ain't got any guns" he's going to turn around

The reason pulling over criminals doesn't rate as being dangerous is because cops are trained to minimize the risk. Most professions you're worried about being *injured* on the job...with cops, death is their first worry and the work very hard to prevent it.

I live in Vermont. Pretty much everything is either "down south" or "out west."

Yes, when stopped by the police you should *immediately* yell out the window

I live in VT. You don't need a permit of any kind, which is pretty sweet. But since we have such a gun-friendly state, when the local cops pull you over they always ask "do you have any guns or other weapons in the car?" You think there "aren't any stupid questions"...this is an example of one. First, cops should

The People's Republic of Ohio.

Yep, cool...learnin' all the time! I found this tidbit:

A tire is not very aerodynamic...they slow down pretty quickly. You're also either sitting pretty far back or behind a catch fence that the tire will have to clear in an arc. I've seen enough tires into crowds to know that it's not the speed of the tire it's the fact that it's still spinning that does the most

Titanium springs? I wonder if you can...I'll have to look that up. But yeah, a (relatively) small spring *and* it was bouncing in the same direction of travel so maybe less than 100KPH closure?

If it travels that far, at least the crowd would have time to see it coming and get out of the way. And you thought it was cool to catch a ball at a baseball game....

Here in the US instead of banking the turns (which would screw up freight traffic) they use a trains that tilts:
