There’s more to an extra model than just swapping the drivetrain and calling it a day. For example, EPA testing would need to be done.

I was talking about the “questionable reliability as of late” part of the comment, as newer models would have the more reliable FA/FB motors (except the STi).

A Ford would probably be less reliable than a Subaru, unless you’re talking STi, which defiantly needs an FA/FB in it.

The 86 makes more power than the Miata.
