As a hard-core supporter of Bernie Sanders, I couldn’t agree more. Sure, I wish my guy could be president. And, I’m not a fan of Clinton, particularly. And, I actually think Bernie could fare well in a general election—and *might* give us a better chance of taking back the senate if voter enthusiasm is high.

I’m 100% pro-Bernie. And, honestly, I don’t like Hillary. And I don’t particularly like the way she has conducted herself in this political season. BUT, I have an enormous amount of respect for her—I think she’s a badass—and I can’t wait to see her wipe the floor w/ Marco Rubio (or, god help me, Ted Cruz)—and, as much

God, I’m so conflicted about this. . . . .the thing is that some victims of assault DO embellish. . . . .which is a frequent (but rarely reported on) phenomenon. They change small or big details to make their assault sound more like a “prototypical” rape. In terms of my own rape, when I was 19, I changed details when

Thank you. You did everything for me that google could not do in this case.

No. . . . .that actually makes a lot of sense! Jezebel articles totally default to snark. . . .which can be off-putting when the target doesn’t seem particularly deserving.

Can we call it a “dude fight” if one of the men involved is actually saying some pretty awesome stuff in support of all manner of people who do not qualify as dudes?

Yeah. . . . I’m a bit torn here. On the one hand, I think it’s obnoxious to be publicly self-aggrandizing about ANY of one’s reading choices (e.g. This year, I will only read 19th century Russian literature)—it’s particularly irritating (no, enraging) if people are heaping praise on themselves for reading literature

I dunno. I’m with you. This felt really snarky:

If we look at Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. . . . .It looks like (at this moment in time

If you listen to/watch the PBS news hour, you will hear an increasingly desperate David Brooks, every damn week, arguing, “It can’t be Trump. It won’t be Trump.” Before his voice gets even more tremulous and he starts saying, “Marco Rubio. . . . Marco Rubio. . . . it’s gonna be Rubio.”

This comment is everything. Or, almost everything. Because, really, this moment is everything.

To be blunt, your question is not a very intelligent or meaningful one. So, yeah, probs

LOL. That’s a really good observation. Their discussion points are both so stunningly not discussion points mixed w/ fancy words.

Ahhhhhhhhhh. So you are a pedant and/or a troll or both. In any case, I won’t engage my intellect and/or empathy w/ you. Bye bye.

I think this is the only good response. There is so much that is wrong there. I just can’t. So I really, really respect your “what????!!!” And I will add, “the fuck????!!!” And then respond, “Oh god, a hardcore cultural relativist, let’s get the fuck out of this conversation.”

As soon as I heard about the November terrorist attacks in Paris, my heart broke for Parisians and the French and that city that I love, and simultaneously broke for the refugees who are fleeing war, only to be placed in camps w/out adequate food, water, education, medical care, who have no homes, and whose welfare

Agreed. I felt badly for the victims and I also felt badly re: the implications for refugees. Those feelings do not have to be mutually exclusive.

Not necessarily. Were they immigrants? We don’t know yet. And, more to the point, there are plenty of male muslims in Germany and the rest of Europe who have not gone around attacking women. And, more to the point, there were probably just as many women attacked by white german men in some way the same night.

No. . . . .from the context (Jesus House, her relative youth, etc.), I think she means that planned parenthood helped her avoid an pregnancy that could have hindered her success.
