Sallie Mae is a publicly traded company.

And they still process the majority of Federal student loans. So a private company manages, profits from, and has a monopoly on the Federal system. Here’s how that happened.

Thank you for the cancellation of weird stalker troll. It was definitely appreciated.

Right? Because there are plenty of good edibles. I don’t smoke that much either, but I’ll eat THC any day.

Can someone also explain to me how the federal government currently has a monopoly on government lending, when the two primary lenders (Sallie May and Freddie Mac) are privately owned?

I knew about her conflicts of interest, but this is quite detailed. Thanks.

On another note, where is she getting that the government has a monopoly on student lending? I was under the belief that Sallie Maye and Freddie Mac were privately owned.

This has an air that reminds me of the Meteor Stalker Drama years back that I couldn’t keep straight and drug on for months. I’m really not looking forward to round 2.

Underrated comment. Dammit, keeping the composure at my desk was hard.

She was actually pretty before she molded her face into it’s current frozen RBF incarnation. Why do people do this to themselves?

This doesn’t have a Racka flavor at all. I know people at Splinter had them pegged as “Tomato” but Racka was a poor knock off of the OG Tomato. Not the same.

Nah, this has the flavor of an old school stalker troll circa “The Meteor Stalker Drama” a few years back. There was nothing funny about that shit. It was full on

I was managing to control my fangirl FOMO on the Disney+ front until the BY memes started. I lasted less than 2 weeks before I caved.

We could have called it universal healthcare, public option, single payer, etc. We weren’t tied to “nationalized healthcare”. There was a certain faction of the progressive/left wing that wanted this specific phrase, and all the imperfect messaging it entails. Further more, they demanded a bill with this name.

Just

Of topic but, time to flag a weird ass troll harassing people with screen caps of comments we can all see. What the shit?

Then try explaining to them how our social media feeds are flooded by our friends go fund me’s. The guilt of knowing we don’t have the money to save them all, while we watch the tallies slowly climb to mediocre levels of what’s needed because we only have so much to give ourselves. The collective guilt that lays on

Had dental insurance when I needed to have 4 wisdom teeth removed. Cost after insurance was $1,300. I had to take out credit.

I would have gladly taken antibiotics for 3 weeks, waited, and drove 3 hrs. And the rest of the western world thinks We live in a bubble.

It is a shorthand for nationalized healthcare.

Exactly. And the OP’s original comment is the exact reason why so many were saying “maybe making the phrase “medicare for all” being used as a litmus test is a bad idea”. Because there are other ways to talk about universal healthcare without linking it to a system that

If you’re lucky enough to refuse one. There are many situations where you’re deemed incapable of refusing medical treatment. Like if you’re drunk with a “potential” head injury

I was out for my birthday with my father in my home town a few years back. My dumb ass tripped on a curb and fell while we were walking home. I

Yes. There are areas of this country that do charge for the fire department and police.

Genuinely curious here, how much does supplemental private health insurance cost there? When you purchase it to supplement the government plan, does it cover all remaining costs?

We have that combo here in the US for the elderly once they qualify for Medicare (the federal plan). It’s called Medicare Supplemental

MSNBC. They’re bran spankin new.

The new one. There’s not much we can do about the old hats already in the black.
