So there is absolutely plenty of that, but there is also a good deal of just boredom and exhaustion with the whole MCU. I think the last Spiderman and GotG movies were both flawed, but the only actually GOOD phase 4 and 5 films (black widow was fine, but not needed, Shang Chi had great moments but was also meh,

There seems to be a great deal of thirst for this movie to do poorly. I can’t tell if it’s fans of The Flash, Black Adam, and the incredibly successful DCPU or just the usual mix of racism and misogyny that makes the Internet wonderful... All I know is that when I don’t want something to succeed, I just... don’t

That section of the article definitely felt like someone was trying to pre-emptively throw DeCosta under the bus in case the film flops.

I know someone like this. Should have realized.

I’m not sure you can call it diplomatic relations, but the admiral did mention Starfleet was happy about the Cerritos opening up a line of communication with the Orions, which is extremely notable given it was a ship who’s original mission was to be “second-contact” and that none of the flagship captains had done so

Don’t waste your time, he’s simply too stupid and bigoted to grasp anything more complex than a Dick and Jane book.

He’s a very stupid troll, he gets confused if you don’t hold his hand through every step of the story.

The idea that “crap writing” is defined as “everything isn’t directly and explicitly laid out” is... well, it’s an opinion, I’ll grant you that.

She definitely has a plan, and given how capable she’s proven herself, it wouldn’t surprise me if she takes over the family and establishes some sort of diplomatic relationship with the Federation so she can go back.

Once a season, I feel obligated to say that I actually live in the city of Cerritos. It’s a place known for its titanium-clad library and performing arts center. It’s known even more for its auto square and its accompanying jingle. My work here is done...

I rewatched the first episode of the season to hear the Pike reference just before this episode aired. It does look like a Streamrunner class starship was in the station where Voyager was. Maybe it was foreshadowing its appearance for the end of the season.

There’s long been a trend of folks having a hard time when there isn’t a backstory or just totally laid out for them, unsure of where it stems from. Feels like a similar place where plot is the only thing that really matters for a lot of folks.

But the Locarno storline does not hold up or make sense”

Can we talk about how great the animation has been this season?”

Cadet Mariner was so damn earnest.

Loved that they got Shannon Fill to reprise Sito Jaxa. She actually hasn’t acted for over 25 years, and only had a brief 3 year career on screen. I think she was in theater for a few years after that.

I love how James is putting the “third season sucked” note at the top of every one of these almost certainly just to annoy the people who post the “season 3 was good, actually” comments every time.

Yeah I forget sometimes and have to use another browser without adblock and holy shit, the post-Gawker owners really did a number on this place. Just trash wall-to-wall garbage ads.

Not for me, no. But if you do turn off an ad-blocker here the site becomes a clusterfuck of ads covering the screen and forcing the page to reload.
