Well, you know, when there’s trouble you know who to call...
I’m hopeful. I tend not to trust early/preview reactions (and especially not if they use the term “masterpiece”, which has become so over-used it’s basically meaningless these days) but the handful of negative responses I’ve seen so far (and some of them have been VERY negative) have essentially amounted to “Garland…
Ha, quite.
I really, really hope this is good enough to warrant future seasons... mostly because I am looking forward to seeing how the hell they adapt some of the bonkers stuff that occurs in books 2 and 3 (especially 3!).
Yeah, but who amongst us hasn’t tried to kill Batman at one time or another?
Let’s face it, there probably are a lot of rotting corpses hanging off of gargoyles in Gotham simply because Gotham police never got around to fishing off those captured criminals from hard to access tower tops.
Alright then... guess it’s time to put a crew together.
Stop trying to make TENET happen!
On the other hand, M. Night’s last movie, Knock at the Cabin, was based on a book but he changed its story considerably.
Nic, please, for your own sake... log off and go for a walk!
Dude is absolutely desperate to make himself the “martyr” here, isn’t he?
Don’t blame the internet. People just aren’t generally mature enough to use it. Quite possibly, and probably, including myself but... I forget what my point was.
...Boy Kills World looks to have some John Wick in its DNA...
It just doesn’t look as stupidly fun as the games, which I think is the biggest potential flaw at the moment. Very much had a “knock-off Guardians” vibe, but with even dumber attempts at humour (and, yes, I am aware the games were pretty damn juvenile... but they sold it, for the most part, with some infectious…
“Tenet” was... fine? I certainly don’t regret seeing it. But this weird thing where “we” (speaking loosely) decide that certain people (in this case, a director) are “geniuses”, and thus everything they do needs to be constantly reappraised and re-evaluated until that self-evident genius becomes apparent, needs to…
I love that there’s a guy in the greys desperately trying the old “well, actually, your obvious joke doesn’t take into account all the details of the situation, so you are wrong and I am very smart” gambit. Always fun to see.
Again... haven’t they said that Badlands is going to be the one set in the future and that they’re still looking at other options for “Prey 2", either as a direct sequel to the first one, or set in another historical period?
Pretty sure they’ve already announced that Badlands is set in the future, and there’s also plans for a separate, direct sequel to Prey as well (which, actually, feels like them learning the wrong thing from its success... the stand-alone nature, in a different period and environment, was what made it so enticing in…
Use those panels as the basis for the intro credits sequence, I say.
I really liked the book, so am cautiously looking forward to this adaptation.
