Correct.

They’re giving it to Jordan Peele, aren’t they?

Let’s face it, whether or not they actually believe the bullshit they’re slinging (I’m sure some do, simply because there’s a certain tech-type who thinks that reading sci-fi - and uncritically going “sure, that will be possible... it’s in a book, how could it not be?” - is a sign of how much smarter and more

Huh, I think I’ve still got a version of this somewhere with a rocket that doesn’t fire (sadly).

This is absolutely the way to look at it.

It is very funny how he continues to pull this “I read Sci-Fi, I am very smart!” schtick, even as it continues to prove that he’s unable to process anything but the most superficial layers of whatever he’s read.

Dale gets hospitalized for overexposure to old, highly toxic pesticide that he found when working in a disused section of the military base where Bill’s an Army barber, comes out with damaged vocal chords and maybe a few new personality quirks.”

“Wait, did I always sound like that?”

Much as I’m sure we’ll all miss Johnny Hardwick, they have a great opportunity to have some meta-fun here by recasting Dale and then occasionally having someone else comment that “something seems a little different about you...” in a vaguely suspicious manner.

Oh yeah, I could see that.

And I’m pretty sure I saw Dust???

I could not, in good conscience, ever recommend anyone watch “The Book of Eli”. It truly is a bad movie. Not “bad” in the sense of, you know, being badly made - clearly it had a not insignificant budget - but bad in the sense that it’s just badly written, from start to finish, so trite and self-important that it can’t

I’m old enough to remember when we used to get six seasons and a movie, dammit!

This is one of those “be careful what you wish for” moments for me... The Gone-Away World is one of my ALL-TIME favourite books, and a series adaptation would be wonderful... if it was done right.

See, Cyclops was right.

Fascinating to see how this has already altered the media narrative in exactly the way the palace will have wanted... now, of course, anyone who ever questioned the official story (and its terribly staged and/or photoshopped images) is clearly a heartless, uncaring individual because this poor woman has cancer, how

Honestly, a cast switch-up - or, even better, a totally clean slate - would probably be good for it, because as much as I’m a Phil Coulson “stan” (and always happy to call in “the cavalry”) a lot of the original cast were... not exactly great actors.

Isn’t part of his point that, while the setting is current, America isn’t all that exceptional when it comes to this sort of thing? That civil wars occur, for the same sorts of reasons, all over the world because humanity shares an inherent tribalism that’s always looking for an excuse to rear its ugly head?

The main X-Men book looks like the most interesting one to me - shades of the “Extinction Team” era when Cyke was leading a particularly powerful version of the team against major threats.

Interesting thought there re: Moira.
