I’m torn on this.
I’m torn on this.
Nice to see Brooks, Ferrera, Wright, and Domingo getting the nods.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Book of Eli. I laughed incredibly hard throughout.
Good. Because we all know Foggy was the real hero.
I definitely will watch Titane again. Not so much this one...
Look, you’ve got to remember - and I say this not as a Snyder “hater”, as I’ve seen several of his films and actively enjoyed some of them, even if I’m more than willing to criticise his work when I think it’s actually deserved - that, as good a dude as ZS is supposed to be, he’s also one of those guys who seems to…
I am truly, honestly, and unashamedly, going to miss this show.
I think that’s because it can be interpreted very differently, depending on how/where you’re sitting at the time (mentally I mean, it doesn’t really matter where you’re physically sat as long as you can see the screen).
I enjoyed the first season, despite its flaws (and good god did it have its flaws) so I’m looking forward to S2 and hopefully it’ll improve on the first (which, again, I did enjoy).
...several weird interstitial segments in the show’s second season.
“[As capitalists ourselves] the anti-capitalist allegory is only one very small part of Squid Game,”
I mean, a lot of people missed the point of the movie when it came out. A LOT.
I sincerely wish I could take credit for it, but it was mooted by a few other people online first before I saw it and had my “eureka” moment.
Look, I get that he’s a bona-fide (and justified) star these days (and his name fits the classic Marvel alliteration archetype) but... c’mon guys, Rahul Kohli is right there, and is a full decade younger, so is a better long-term bet (and, despite his post-Mike Flanagan cache, also significantly cheaper I’d imagine).
Me too. There’s definitely a lot of pre-written negativity out there (for example, despite the weird party-line on this, you definitely don’t need to do any “homework” to enjoy the movie - if anything, it might get some more people to go and watch Ms Marvel because Iman Vellani is a delight) which is making it harder…
I do love a good melancholy ending.
Yeah, he is far from alone in this.
I agree that this was the best episode of the new season so far.
Fun fact - the bar where Sylvie takes Loki is run by some friends of mine. Good beer. Really good gig venue too.
Funnily enough, that’s also how I felt about Ridley throughout the entire trilogy. Flat, affectless, and seemed like she was reading most of her lines off cue cards for the very first time.
