I was not prepared to be this impressed.

As Half-track El Camino mentioned, they need people who couldn’t care less about the environment to buy EVs. Ignore that this is better for the environment. Its a ONE THOUSAND HORSEPOWER HUMMER.

I like it. Out of my price bracket. But I like it.

Europe is getting its shit together on ______, meanwhile in the US...

Just tax gas.

A buddy had a Dodge Stealth/3000GT and this was an issue... 30 years ago. Or in Dodge years, still possible.

Payload goes down to less than 5 adult occupants

Exactly what any intelligent person knew would happen. Keep back paddling on your previous bias reporting Jalopnik.

I think you’re overestimating their attention span.

Should make investors happy for about 12 seconds

New Jag CUV will be the “Ayee”

Yeah, I guess Honda, Hyundai/Kia, Mazda and Subaru are about the only ones with a generally good rep. JLR,  Aston Martin, Lotus, and McLaren are always on the cusp of financial ruin as is traditional for British marques even when they are owned by non-British corporations.

At this point what major manu has a stellar reputation?

GM isn’t in trouble and this is a pretty hands clean deal with little blowback on GM or their brands. They have everything to gain from this. If all you read is Jalopnik reporting on the partnership I can see your perspective

GM is going to drop their battery/drivetrain and hydrogen cell in Nikola vehicles either way, and use them as a springboard into hydrogen transport truck market. They don’t really have much to lose, a lot to gain, and it seems like now more than 2 weeks ago when the partnership was announced they have more power to

Pretty slick package. Just have to replace that old 6 speed automatic. Maybe when the new RWD platform debuts we’ll see an 8, 9, or 10 speed

F150 EV cheaper to own... once you’ve paid for it

Tesla was built on the sole purpose to make EVs on a small scale and ramp up, that is not the situation at GM or any other major manufacturer. The two, Tesla vs GM, are not comparable

I think GM is timing the electrification of it’s lineup pretty accurately where it can deliver range, price, and profit per unit. It’s a mega gamble for a huge manufacturer to push too soon and flop. Maybe they are 12-18 months behind the curve, but again they need this drive system proofed, they can’t be like Tesla

At this point I think GM could give all of you a billion dollars each and you’d find a way to shit on them for it. It would seem that Jalopnik has a culture problem when it comes to GM. They’ve been making big improvements all over the place and are by far the most focused on electrification of all the major
