Sorry, was there a point to this article other than reinforcing staff writers not liking GM?

That’s exactly my point. This Morning Shift mentions capacitors as the next battery revolution, but it’s not really, there’s going to be 10 other battery advancements
There are so many “the next thing” for battery tech that’s its not really worth mentioning one over the other without mentioning them all.
We’ve got graphene, solid state, different anode materials, and likely 10 others.
So you can crop the person out later like any good couples photo
Name didn’t dictate what it was. You can archive back to 2007 and it wasn’t a library or jalopy and beatnik car articles. See the archives I actually remember the articles and series they ran.
The old beater era was Bill Caswell and his $500 BMW taking on half million dollar race teams. Not plywood articles every day.
I remember when Jalopnik wasn’t so much of a beater community. What happened to a front page full of car reviews, test drives, interviews, techinical articles, and covering events? Honest car reviews and articles with a humorous twist is what made this place great, along with test drives written by a Test Driver. It…
I don’t think a vehicle if equipped with an 8000lb battery is going to get that efficiency. Let’s say a 250kwh battery as still a very large battery compared to anything else. That’s 325 miles using the Audi towing efficiency.
Lol
People dont forget that. But the thing with gas or diesel is it is far more energy dense. Where as EV are more energy efficient yes. But not even accounting for how fast it is to fill up gas, just the fact that a 100L tank contains so much more energy that could be the equivalent of a 850kwh battery. That 850kwh…
It reminds me of watching a race on Sunday as a kid with my dad. Awesome shots.
Oh absolutely it was. I’m strictly referring to female ensemble cast like what a FF spin off would be.
At 4000rpm the turbo would be on boost and quick reacting. And that BMW 2.0T does give that extra 50lb-ft right in the middle at 4000rpm over the FRS NA2.0. It’s actually flat from 3k-5k. And a 50lb-ft bump at 4000rpm would bump midrange power about 35hp. The car very much would be faster, not just feel? faster even…
There’s always a need for base models. And a true enthusiast would recognize the better car along with the budget constrained, leaving the rest of the mass market to buy the more powerful option
I didn’t suggest the FF issue is writing. Which it is for sure, but it’s an over the top action movie, not a Guild contender. It’s not about FF at all really. It’s about throttling that rung out franchise to the main arc, and not making another spin off. In this case a no purpose female lead movie when instead you…
Thats why there would be the NA models and turbo models. It’s why performance tiers of any vehicle exist
I don’t think it’s the enthusiast that is the main customer of the FRS though. You can still have a balance car, it’s just a little closer to the edge with something like this 2.0T and you don’t have to hang out at 5500rpm all the time with a frumpy torque curve
No I know (re: bullets) and the current engine offering in the FRS is fine. But a hi-po offering with proper torque isn’t going to upset anyone. The car could be a factory bullet if Toyota unlocked it's potential.
Last time I said the FRS was under powered I got chewed out by a fellow who worked at Lexus and acted like he new Mr Toyoda himself.. But this engine should be a range topper in the FRS FFS
Fair, that’s what I meant. Mindless crap either way
