I owned a 1983 Escort.

The LS1 costs a LOT more than 5% more! A decent LS1 F-body is at least double the price, with very good ones commanding 20k!

This would be like waxing poetic about a clean Mitsubishi Mirage in 30 years.  Just the most basic penalty box that people only bought because they needed an upgrade from the bus.

Sometimes the people who live in the neighborhood aren’t super enthusiastic about bike lanes, especially if they lose parking because of them.

Its funny because I read it as sarcasm but then remembered Raph was the author so I doubted myself.  To be honest its probably truthful sarcasm if such a thing exists.

I would say the v8 model would be a poor man’s Vette. This is just a poor man’s car.

I think the point back then was to look cool but not necessarily be cool.  Remember all your car buddies knew deep down it was a POS, the high school ladies for the most part did not.  Point in your favor.

Let’s see...all show and no go? Boy racer’s spoiled wet dream? Cop bait that the cops can catch on foot?

Here, I think you need this for the gears in your avatar head that are obviously stuck.

Agreed.

You mean like California having rolling blackouts by fucking design!? Oh yeah and the forest management strategy being forest fires every summer. Talk to me about failed states.

Haiti? I mean I only did a couple minutes of googling but looks like they had much bigger problems with their energy grid than Texas. Not to mention, one issue does not define the entire state as a failed state. I’m not saying Texas doesn’t have issues, but you are painting in some seriously broad strokes.

Do you live in or near Texas? That is quite a dramatic accusation based on one persons idiotic mistake.

Well, no one died, so manslaughter might be a bit of hard case to prove.

I mean, yeah, there’s a lot of problems in Texas, but this sort of thing happens in all 50 states constantly. Maybe not resulting in cyclists being run over, but douche-bros harassing them, and if/when it goes wrong walking away with minor consequences
