Having been around race car frame construction my whole life, that non braced and stacked square tube frame rails thing that is going on there... It’s gonna be a no from me dawg.

You should have saved this one for Rob. I bet it could have gotten that elusive 99% No Dice loss.

Looking at the chart, it would make sense that more remote areas like Alaska and Wyoming would have higher prices due to much lower inventory compared to larger metros.

Sure, and people invested a ton of money into that Elizabeth Holmes company selling blood testing kits. It’s easy to invest money. It’s hard to actually manufacture 100,000 of something, especially something as complex as a 2.5 ton vehicle. It’s hard to warranty all your units. It’s hard to avoid PR pitfalls.

none. battery tech has been pretty stagnant. theyre getting a stable percentage a year but i dont think 5 years is going to make a difference. most of the added range tesla is claiming is because theyre using a legal loophole correction factor. its why real world testing shows the taycan and model s pretty dang close

The Ford still seems like the value play here, and I trust the institutional knowledge of Ford building trucks. It’s hard for me to want to be the first to purchase a new manufacturer, because I’d be worried about them folding.

But the article needs a headline.... so

Range anxiety is still real. I still can’t depend on there being a charger at my destination and short of a Tesla most E cars don’t have the range to make a three hour drive out and then make it back.

Coincidently most of my vacationing is about three hours from here.

I can’t do that without refilling my WRX, but I

1st Gear: I don’t think having to use government subsidies to get people to buy EVs is a good plan long term. They need to be made well enough and useful enough to have people buy them regardless. Giving a big discount to the automakers gives them no incentive to figure out how to make them better and cheaper. This is

It’s worth noting that to realize a $7500 tax credit, you have to be making a decent amount of money to begin with.

Won’t give you any trouble except every time a light turns green

“...nor safe enough to be a daily driver,”

Agreed. It’s an absurd amount of money for a poverty-spec 4th-gen Bronco, but it’s remarkably clean and has low miles.  That adds up to a lot of dollars in the Bronco market.

Even if they aren’t gouging, why work harder for the same money?

“I get that supply is tight and they are selling almost every truck they get in before it lands on the lot.”

Ape NFTs on the internet sell for more than this.  Anything is possible.

EVs don’t have head gaskets, so I’m just wondering what Achilles heel they’re going to saddle these things with to ensure the essence of “Subaru” carries through, despite the shared platform w/Toyota.

You can put me down for a WILDLY IRRATIONAL Nice Price vote. I’ve liked these wacky retro-trucks since they came out. As soon as I saw what we were dealing with today, I immediately scrolled down to see what transmission lever it had.

I’ll go against the grain here.
