I am not sure you actually understand the definition of ‘over-rated.’ The Corvette, and especially everything that came before the C8, have never been over-rated. Over-rated is a car that simply never lived up to it’s billing, the advertising, the auto journalist reviews, and the street reputation. The Corvette has

I’m gonna have to agree with BMWs in general. I have a friend who is a diehard BMW fan. He has had a 335, 2x 135, X5 diesel, 650 GC, and now a current 540. He has even managed to convince a couple of friends who were looking for new cars to get into BMWs (both friends jumped from them after less than 2 years each).

Subaru WRX. Easy punching bag. Through generous friends and work I’ve had the lucky pleasure of driving every WRX model, hard, save for the most recent one.

Bear with me here, but I’m going with BMWs in general. Setting aside the well-known reliability issues, they’re actually fine vehicles. But they’re the most clear-cut case of being overrated that I can think of. It was one of the reasons I eventually cancelled all of my car mag subscriptions. They couldn’t give an

The C5 Z06 might be the most underrated car ever. Nothing that cheap is that fast around a track. It wasn’t designed to be of art it was designed to go fast and be cheap to build.

Unfortunately, I think the BMW 3 series is the most overrated vehicle of all time.

It’s not.

Mazda isn’t trying to sell these; they’re being forced to by California’s ZEV requirements. That’s why it’s both kind of expensive and kind of sucky.

How many 100 mile EVs are you seeing though. If you lose 40 percent of 200 you still have 120 miles. If you lose 40 percent of 100 you are at 60. Drive to work and back and need to hit up the grocery store on the way home and you could be hosed. That’s also assuming you fill to full and deplete to zero which is a no

The number of people who:

3rd gear:  Its a hard sell when you are buying in winter and the full range is down to 65 miles. Best to keep this one in the warmth.

It gets only an EPA-estimated 100 miles of range

This is NOT a safety feature for anyone who already always buckles their seatbelt. It’s an active annoyance. Yeah, let’s get 0.5% more drivers buckling their seat belt, and annoy the fuck out of 90% of drivers. Brilliant!

who the hell hoons a 12 year-old, four cylinder wagon?

Good test for the Spark Plug though

Nice gesture, but a bit unnecessary I think. While this behavior was a threat to public safety, letting a sports car rev to the redline a few times and taking it to a speed only 3/4 of top speed isn’t going to cause any lasting damage to the car itself. That drive would have added less wear and tear on the car than a

Yes, statistically the percentages are WAY up. However, considering the number of flights, number of passengers, etc. don’t you think news outlets are sensationalizing this for the sake of having something to “report” as news?

Kind of a funny transition from “snorting what appeared to be cocaine from a plastic bag” to “The FAA believes part of the problem may be that passengers are getting drunk on to-go alcohol at airport concession stands prior to boarding.”

Stop saying that. GM didn’t kill anything. Anyone else could have made it but it was an idea that just didn’t work at the time. No one was going to buy an 80k car that wasn’t good for anything but rides around town.
