The target customer for this isn’t the mainstream one - It’s the same person buying a $120k+ Tesla. Very high income, very style and image conscious, likes technology. Probably has whatever the newest smartphone is.

If you’re that confident on C7 values, I’d jump on that because right now you can get them for stupid cheap from Kerbeck or MacMulkin.  

The same people that pay extra to get a piece of rope instead of a regular door handle from Porsche will complain that the levers on the Vette are cheap. It's a badge thing.

I don’t get all the hate in the Jalopnik comments about this car. I think it looks great, more like the supercars it is trying to emulate, it sounds incredible, and it will be an excellent value for the level of performance. Is it a badge thing?

Such a tough call, I only clicked CP bc I can’t just justify $6k for a near 200k mile car, no matter how nice it looks.

Those tires are also constructed much differently than a street tire. This is an absurd comparison.

And as you said, these are mandated, not chosen by the teams for ultimate performance.

Big wheels are a necessity because people keep buying huge cars with huge wheel wells. Stop buying stupid and bad cars.
