Ford isn’t much better

Could be, maybe not. The driver might have started his descent too fast. He might have missed a gear and got stuck in neutral. Might have ridden his brakes until they glazed over. There’s no way for us to know any of that

Not all trucks are equipped with engine brakes either. Also, you’d be surprised at how little engine braking a heavy-duty diesel engine has.

Never, ever use an engine brake on a slick road, chains or no.  Jacknife city

Trucking boss here. Insurance company can’t really dictate his employment status. As to if there’s no penalty from me, it would depend on what caused this event. If the driver did something wrong, then yes, there’s going to be a penalty. If it was something beyond his control, then no.

I was probably in ninth grade or so when we finally got a few diesel school buses. Before that we rode in gasoline powered ones, mostly Ford chassis but a few Chevs too. I kinda liked the gassers better because they were quiet enough that you could hear the trans and low-geared rear end whirring noises.  Some of the

They don’t need probable cause to investigate suspicious activity. All three of the incidents certainly gave rise to the reasonable suspicion standard. He was never arrested and/or searched, so I don’t know what your beef with the cops is here.

Then why would you ever need a truck? Using your logic you could just hook a trailer to a 4X4 SUV

I don’t think he has a clue as to how fast a Dodge rusts in WI either

Neutral: Is there any chance we’ll see the new GM full size SUV’s at the NY auto show?

No.  This thing is awful. Not many ‘Mericans are going to buy a “pickup” with a 1.4L.  Not happening. VW will choke and gag here like they did with that Rabbit pickup hermaphrodite in the 80's.

You almost certainly WILL fly it in the future. These bugs will get worked out. As the years go by, the NG’s will be retired. It’ll be tough flying anywhere and avoiding a 737.

The ad is 17 days old. There’s got to be more problems with this car because I can’t imagine a $3k Vette sitting that long with no takers

This spat has been going on for 14 years. So, no.

If loving this ‘Stang is wrong, I don’t want to be right

I buy commercial trucks all the time. Now granted, this is business to business, but under $50k a check usually will suffice and the seller sits on the title until the check clears. Over that amount is usually a bank wire. Nothing tricky about it it. Sometimes takes a couple, three hours to clear but it’s secure and

Brexit doesn’t sound so bad after all.

Shit, I didn’t realize I was on Jezebel

Anybody who’d pay $15k for a 30 year-old French shitbox needs their head examined

Bwahahaha. That’s some funny shit there.
