I'm pretty sure it's just a logo. I'm trying to figure out the "safety" part of having it removed. Is it, as jzp.unltd said, a laser after all? A remote detonator button? Is there some sort of Leica gang people might not want to be associated with?

I didn't get one (no adblock, either).

OK, good. I thought it was just me. I finally clicked through and read the article, just to figure out what it was about.

aaaaand, heart!

This video kicked my dog and crapped in my mailbox. Really ruined my day.

It's sad/interesting that he has a 3-story house (worth, what? $300-$500k? $16 [gizmodo.com] ?) and no health insurance.

How does it work with Boost Mobile (I think?), where you pay $40/month, and that includes tax? The service is available in different states; do they just adjust their profit margins to account for different levels of taxes?

This is so flipping elegant. *So* much confusion over taxes.

Why haven't I heard of this? *Such* an elegant solution!

I was using 500MB-1GB/month for a while, but recently I'm using 3GB+ per month—once I started using Google Music on my phone, I started eating through it (I've used 550MB today alone—gulp!)

How does your carrier not nag you constantly? Have they suspended you at some point?

Now playing

Can't find the video, but Christian Finnegan's "Song Terrorism" bit was like that: you can ruin someone's entire day by walking up behind them and humming Creed.

That stuff is amazing. I'm going to just stick my head in the sand and say that it's exempt from this article.

I see it there too. It's *also* in the gear. Our gmail has 100% more begging; Matt should be jealous.

I used to work at... an office supply store's tech branch (we'll call it Fables EasyGuess), and they were doing a promotion for a free "tune-up" (basically a way to look at the computer and say "Hey, I cleaned your cookies, but you need more RAM and you have 50 viruses! It'll be $XXX to fix it, want me to get started

My 30-second review of Google Music, as shown by my reactions:

Was this a steam catapult, or one of the magnetic ones ( [en.wikipedia.org] )? It doesn't seem to have the clouds of steam coming out of it that you usually see.

I live on the other side of the country. This article has absolutely no impact on me. However, I still find it interesting. I don't care where the tunnel was made, how much it cost, etc. That doesn't change the fact that a BIG-ASS ROBOT WAS FORCED TO DIG HIS OWN GRAVE.

It's probably XP set without the visual effects, though you can set Vista to look like that too (dunno about 7).
