He’s also in a weird spot where he backs some very progressive policies (reparations!) but also some very centrist ones (as you’d expect from a Democrat coming out of Texas).

Random thoughts about this:

Easily win? What makes people think this? He just lost to Ted Cruz less than a year ago in an election where Democratic voter turnout was astronomical. Texas hasn’t elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1988. It’s a Presidential election, so the Texan Trumpers are going to be out in full force.

My hot take: I’d be fine paying the higher ticket price. They explained why they’re doing it, and I honestly don’t disagree with their logic. I’m happy to put my money where my mouth is, and if that gets to subsidize the admission fee of someone who hasn’t had the advantages I’ve had, then GOOD.
