Won’t work in practice. Suppose in this play, Marisnick started to run toward home to force the throw home, but then retreated to third because he didn’t think he could make it. Should he be out as soon as the catcher has the ball and touches the plate even if he isn’t quite back at third?
If any of these billionaires really wanted to displace Trump, they would run as an independent or Libertarian in the general election on a never-Trump Republican platform.
I don’t even disagree, but “Look at this sad weird loser. I wish he would run for Senate!” is a pretty odd sentiment.
To be fair — and I think it’s unquestionably good that more folks are professing to be on board — tons of people who claim they’re for socialism don’t know what it is either.
Gotta love non athletes telling a pro catcher that they’re all pussies in today’s game.
The MLB and their “unwritten rules” explicitly encouraged this behavior and continues to do so at the other bases to “break up” double plays. It should be written that the runner must attempt to avoid making contact with the fielder attempting to make a play (that is the point of the game right?)
Easy solution to home plate collisions (if MLB really cares about player safety), make home plate a force out.
I’m not offended by the presence of billionaires, but it does annoy me when they spend vast portions of their wealth on absolutely nothing.
There are few things more heartbreaking or frustrating to me* in sports than watching an athlete with a potential head or neck injury try to fight through it. “Screw you, let me up.”
By this time all of the major sports and their players know the dangers of head injuries. I know that these are competitive people, but…
considering his body was almost horizontal when he made contact with lucroy (who i thought would be on an episode of let’s remember some guys by now) I believe him when he says he was diving for the inside corner of the plate.
MLB is partially culpable for not requiring the runner to slide in this situation.
It does look to me like both guys took a step to the inside at the same time — like when you bump into someone in a hallway and do The Dance where you try to go around each other and keep picking the same direction.
I like how he mentions every network and company in an attempt to hurt their stocks.
It was definitely the Fuck Trump chant. He was pissed that the anchor didnt immediately go to bat for him. Also he isn’t the center of attention. He cant handle the fact that the USWNT are making headlines.
If this wasnt all so deathly serious i would find this hilarious. He’s so pathetic and embarrassing.
Yeah, while you obviously can’t reasonably say that they’re a better team without Kawhi, they’ve comported themselves pretty darn well considering what was available to them in the aftermath. Definitely better than they did last offseason after signing LeBron.
I mean, yes the Lakers aren’t well run. But do you mean to say that signing Boogie for 3.5 million is a bad decision? That’s a great get for any team, I think.
Well...the Lakers only have 1 active slot 3 actual spots left on their roster...but sure, the Pelicans are better run.
