E85 is a perfect example of what happens when subsidies go wrong. You take the farm subsidy, then tack on the ethanol tax breaks, and you end up with a fuel that costs more to produce than you can sell it for and is barely energy positive if at all, but people can make money selling it, so they do.

Careful with those claws, Wolverine, she's just a little girl.

oh, And "Wally" had better have answered positively on that survey or a lot of wagon-loving americans are going to track his ass down and give him a wedgie.

Love it. The DI V6 with the Torsen-based AWD system is a hot car. Can they make the C (D?) pillar smaller though? That thing makes the C-pillar on the FJ cruiser look small.

3-series BMWs are common as roaches in LA. I haven't noticed a lack of turn signal use probably because I don't even notice the cars themselves anymore, they're like matte backgrounds for a movie which is set in some kind of yuppie hell (Which, would probably just be LA itself).

My opinions on LS-motor fanbois are well documented on this board and others, but beat the ZR-1 with a heavy-ass pack of batteries? Maybe when we find something lighter and more powerful than Lithium ion batteries.

@yellofury * * * * *: Motorweek is serious journalism? Are you fucking kidding me? They haven't said a bad word about a car in their entire manufacturer-sponsored existence. They read the spec sheets and the marketing bullet points, show you a couple "tests" and then claim the car is either good or great.

Well I'm glad the USDM is not the only market that Ford considers to be a redheaded stepchild worthy only of Euro leftovers.

If there's any question this is a chop, look at the right front wheel where it meets the front lip. Either there's a base-ball sized chunk out of that tire or someone 'shopped the JDM v-spec front lip spoiler onto that car.

@FrankRizzo: Just so long as they don't "MR" the Spec-C. The new MR is a softer, less focused, lighter sprung version of the GSR. I want a hotter STI, not an even softer one. And I'd rather have a clutch pedal.

I hope they leave the giant red emergency fuel cutoff handle in the center console of the production version. Fuck i-drive.

"rework the suspension on the Genesis with a set of stiffer springs, damping and shocks to match that differing set of preferences."

@Novaload: Driven by K-k-k-ken! Who's c-c-c-coming to k-k-k-kill me! How are you going to c-c-c-catch me, K-k-k-ken?

Anyone know if there's a free-trade agreement between the US and Argentina that would circumvent the Chicken Tax?

Looks like a chop to me. Hopefully we'll get the Spec-C in the states, the previous STI sold in the US was a sort of hybrid Spec-C, especially the earlier models. Here's hoping that Subie decides to bring out the real thing to answer all those critics who have said the new STI is too soft.

Most likely the $18k swing is the price of the battery pack. Chevy has mentioned that they are looking at alternate ways of marketing the Volt. That battery is going to be expensive, and it's not going to last forever.

Oh, and the must have moved the intercooler to the front since the hood scoop is gone.

@MLaverty: Fast Subarus have always been the girl you know who isn't all that pretty, but who is fun as hell, in good shape, likes to drink, and who you know would f*ck the ever loving sh*t out of you in filthy ways that give the term "Finnish flick" a whole new meaning.
